This is a new story I'm trying out. This came from a strange dream I had and I just want to see if people like it.
Disclaimer: I own nothing….
"Now class, please take out your crayons and copy the flower on the board. Then, raise your hands and I will come around to help you label your diagram. Get to work!" The young teacher said to her 1st grade class. She smiled as she watched the 20 little children start drawing. A sudden noise made her look up and her hand to go discreetly to where she kept her wand.
The door opened slowly and the teacher sighed with relief as she recognized her best friend and her husband. She walked over to the doorway where the two men stood.
"Hello, what are you two doing here? Aren't you needed at the Ministry?" she asked with a smile.
The taller man bent down and gave his wife a kiss.
"Everything's fine love. We just swung by to tell you that we're expected at the Burrow for dinner."
"That takes two fully grown wizards?" the teacher asked with a bemused smile.
"Well," started the shorter wizard sheepishly, "not really, but I wanted to see your school and your husband wanted to see his family."
The teacher looked up at her tall husband and smirked when she saw the cheeky grin on his face.
The adults' chatter was interrupted by a cry from the other side of the room.
"Papa!" A young girl scrambled out of her seat and ran across the room, throwing herself into her father's waiting arms.
Her father picked her up and swung her around, laughing.
"Hello my beautiful Princess. How are you?"
"Wonderful Papa. Why are you here?"
"I came to see my beautiful Princess of course."
The young girl giggled.
"And," he added conspiratorially, "to bring you a present!"
"Honey," began the wife in a warning tone. "Remember what I said."
Her husband waved her warnings away impatiently, too focused on his daughter's reaction to the beautiful bracelet he presented her with. The 6-year-old cooed with delight as her mother looked on disapprovingly.
"Draco, you really shouldn't have." She said quietly as their daughter rushed back to show off her bracelet to her friends.
Draco straightened up, looked his wife in the eye, and replied.
"For Merlin's sake Hermione! It's her birthday!" cried Draco, albeit softly.
"And you know very well that we hand out one present each at breakfast, which we've already done, and the rest at her party on the weekend. Aranel will get spoiled, love!"
Protested Hermione quietly.
"Aranel will be fine," said her friend Harry. "Honestly, with you as a mother, she couldn't be spoiled. You're far too level-headed and practical."
Hermione smiled at the compliment. "Thanks Harry. You two should go. And don't think I've forgotten about you Draco Malfoy!"
"You could never forget me, Mrs. Malfoy!" shot back Draco as he gave his wife a quick kiss before leaving with Harry.
Hermione stared after them until she was brought out of her reverie by a small hand tugging on her shirt. She looked down to see her young daughter looking up at her.
"Yes Aranel?" she asked.
"Are you mad Mummy?" Aranel asked quietly.
"No. I could never be mad at my beautiful Princess." Hermione smiled and knelt down to hug her daughter. After a few seconds, she let go and shooed her child back to her seat.
"All right class, now who is ready for help with the labels?"
That's all, I'm pretty sure this will be a oneshot. However, if you think I should continue, then please tell me. Reviews are always welcome.
Thanks for reading!
