Another one! Please read and review!
"So, where to next?" The Doctor asked. His hands clasped together, and that devious smile gracing his lips. He turned to his companion, hoping she could think of a new and exciting adventure that they could go on. However, Amelia Pond was not acting like herself. She was twiddling her thumbs, and her legs were crossed. Her left foot was stepping on her right foot, and it looked as if she was going to lose her balance at any moment. She scratched her forehead.
"Um…Doctor…I was actually wondering if we could…" Here it was that faithful moment, the moment that Amelia Pond asked if she could see her parents. It happened with Rose, and she opened up a paradox in time. The Doctor decided to never let that happen again. Especially if Amy Pond was traveling back in time to save her parents. The quick-tempered ginger wasn't going to do anything stupid. At least, not on his watch. He put his hands in his pockets, and leaned against the console. He had to admit, he didn't know a thing about Amy Pond. He didn't know what her aunt looked like, or when her parents died. He couldn't let her go back and see them, but he could let her tell him about them.
"When did they die?" Amy was shocked.
"Who? What…what are you talking about Doctor?" Now it was his turn to be shocked. He put his hands in his pockets and straightened up.
"You mean, you don't want to go back in time and see your parents?"
"No. I mean, I guess it would be nice for a time, but I wouldn't get to change anything. They would still be dead. I don't even think they could know who I was." The Doctor couldn't believe that such wise, selfless words were coming from Amelia Pond's mouth.
"You're right. You wouldn't be able to change anything." He started walking over to him. "Are you telling me that you never thought about it? It didn't occur to you that you might actually be able to save them?"
"No. I wouldn't be the same if they were alive. Hell, I don't even think I would have met you. I wouldn't have moved to England if they hadn't died. I was at my aunt's house if you recall." The Doctor nodded.
"I don't understand it Amelia."
"What…don't you understand?"
"You." The Doctor stopped his pacing, and looked straight into her eyes. Amy was transfixed for a moment, but quickly recovered.
"Well, if it's all the same to you, you don't make much sense either." The Doctor laughed.
"Amelia Pond. I think this could be the start of a great friendship." Amy smiled, trying to hide the tiny disappointment she felt by the word friendship. "However, you haven't answered my question yet!" The Doctor hopped up onto the main floor of the TARDIS. "Where to next?"
It was over a page long! Please review, and tell me what you think.
One a side note, I am looking for a BETA reader. Preferably someone who is checking /email every day, and someone with a brain like a thesaurus. I want to expand my stories with vocabulary words, descriptive words…stuff of that nature. Want to help me? Tell me in a review! Thank you.
