Author: Pippin's annoying little friend in a duster (that never shuts up)
Title: Actually I haven't thought of one yet, so if you have any suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them!!
Author's notes: Ummm…… I got the idea to write this little song while I was reading The Fellowship of the Ring (GREAT book!!! If you haven't read it yet, do so!!). There are a bunch of short songs that they sing as they're on the road, and I thought that they were pretty cool, so I decided to make one up myself. And here it is! Ta-da! It really has nothing to do with The Lord of the Rings, except in the 6th stanza where there are some places mentioned. But other than that, it's just a stupid little traveling song that I made up. While I know I can't sing it for you, here's the general idea- the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th stanzas are all the same tune, and the 3rd, 4th, 7th, and 8th stanzas are like the chorus. It's a light and bouncy allegro song, one that's best sung when walking quickly and light-footedly. Soooo……feel free to make any comments on this. Hope you like it!
Disclaimer: Okay, I mention some names in here, so let me just say that I DO NOT own Lord of the Rings, I DO NOT own any of the places mentioned, and I DO NOT have any money, so don't bother suing me anyway.
~Still Untitled~
The road is my home, the path my bed,
Where I shall rest my weary head.
But sleep light! For tonight is the night I go
Down on the path that nobody knows.
Adventure is calling my heart today,
On past the glade and far away.
To be free is for me. I must walk abroad,
From the highest peak to the lowest bog.
Though my pack is quite heavy
And the way might be deadly,
I will march on and on
Till the black night is dawn.
Though I've been many places
And I've seen many faces
The road is yet calling,
My journey yet dawning.
I've been on the sea that does gleam so bright.
I've been on the hills with their starry nights.
Through the wood with a hood of the thickest leaves.
But I'm off again with the next fair breeze.
A life on the road is the life for me.
From the Mirkwood paths to inn at Bree.
Rivendell suits well, and Shire is fine,
But the open road is the home that's mine.
Oh danger won't phase me,
Though its strength might amaze me.
It can try all its might,
But it won't win the fight.
Although trouble is looming
And the way seems quite dooming,
I won't falter or fail.
I will always prevail!
