Kim's POV
Its been about a week since I moved away from home to come to Seaford Community College. Classes were tough but nothing I couldn't handle. I was loving my dorm room with my 3 other roommates. Julie, Grace, and Kelsey. This college was a lot bigger than most, considering there were 4 people in one dorm room. You would think it would be cramped, but the rooms are so big you barely run into people. Its pretty much like a huge studio apartment. I have yet to meet all of their boyfriends that are in pictures all over the walls, but I'm sure I will meet them soon. It was finally Friday and I couldn't be happier. While dozing off in most of my physics class, our teacher dismisses us and I make my way out the crowded door. I make my way down to the coffee shop, The Loft, to get some work done, knowing the girls would have their boyfriends over in the dorm.
After ordering my coffee, I take a seat in the corner of the shop and slide my macbook out of my backpack, turning it on. Not even a minute after sitting down, I see him walk in. Tall, shaggy brown headed guy walk up to the counter and wait to place his order. Unfortunately I did not see his face, but the back of him looks cute. Course its only a few of us in here since it is 5:30 on a Friday night, but that made it all the better. After ajusting my grey sweatshirt, I fix the glasses placed on my face and continue writing the important notes into my notebook. Quickly noticing me after turning around, he shoots me a small smile then continues watching the workers. Apparently I was so focused on my school work, I didn't even hear them call my name for my coffee. Next thing I know, shaggy hair is placing my coffee in front of me.
"Sorry but are you Kim?" he says holding his tight against him.
"Oh, yes thank you. I guess I was so destracted I didn't hear them call my name."
"No problem, I'm Jack" he says holding out his right hand waiting for me to shake it.
"I'm Kim. But you already knew that" I blushed shaking his hand while looking at my cup and back to him.
"Nice to meet you Kim" he smiled slowly letting go of my hand
"Likewise" I smiled moving my coffee on the other side of my laptop. He leaned against the small corner of the wall and watched me for a second.
"So how do you like your classes so far?" all I could do was laugh a little. Was he flirting with me? Or just being nice? I couldn't tell. But before I could say anything back, his phone started ringing. "I'm sorry I have to take this" he said looking at the phone with an irritated look
"Hey Jerry" he said shifting his weight. "Sure, alright I'll meet you guys there" he said hanging up the phone and placing it back in his pocket. "Sorry I have to go but it was nice meeting you. Can I call you sometime? Or am I being too straight forward?" shaking my head I smile looking down "Or do you have a boyfriend? Cause if so that would be awkward"
"No I mean I don't have a boyfriend and yes I would like that a lot. Here, put your number in" I smiled handing him my phone. After putting in his number, he gave it back smiling.
"Well it was really nice talking to you Kim and I hope we can do it again soon" he smiled nodding his head at me before exiting the abandoned coffee shop.
Maybe it wouldn't be so bad here after all, I thought to myself before taking a sip of my coffee and getting back to my school work.
