The village of Konohagakure was hosting the bi-annual Chunin Exams, and the first part was already completed.

Two days into the second exam, and Team 7 has already been put through the ringer and back again. From Sasuke getting bit by Orrochimaru to Sakura's encounter with his Sound Ninja and Naruto being knocked out and then going back to sleep soon-after, things were not looking good.

Night fell over the forest and Sakura, unable to sleep, got up. Looking back she noticed how peaceful the boys were. She smiled at that and walked out into the soft glow of the moonlight.

"Sakura," She turned to see Sasuke jumping down from a tall tree and standing next to her.

"Sasuke, what-" She looked behind her, bewildered, and saw sticks where Sasuke's body once was. She looked back at him.

"How are you feeling, Sakura?"

"I'm feeling better. My head's not pounding as bad as it was and obviously the bleeding has stopped,"

"Good,"

"You Sasuke?"

"I'm fine,"

"Really? No pains or anything?" she asked. She wanted to make sure that he was okay.

"Yeah, I'm sure,"

"Well, that's a relief," she said with a loving smile.

Looking around Sasuke noticed strands of pink still falling from Sakura's head.

"Sakura," he said, their eyes meeting. "Ino left, didn't she?" Sasuke caught a strand. "Before finishing," he added coolly.

"Oh, yes, she did, but it's okay. I'll fix it later," she said, shyly trying to wave him off.

"No, it's not," he pointed toward the ground. "On your knees," He pulled out a kunai knife and a shuriken. "and stay still," he said, also getting down on his knees and leaning in.

Sakura blushed the entire time and noticed that, while the kunai was obviously used for the cutting, the shuriken was being used as a make-shift comb.

"Thank you… Sasuke," she said after a bit, strands falling around her.

"Yeah,"

He stood up and, after examining his work, went around and extended his hand to her. She shyly took it and he pulled her up. The wind encircled them and as leaves came rushing by, the two Genin leaned in for a spontaneous collision. Only it wasn't their lips that met, before she could say anything Sakura's eyes were wide on his chest and Sasuke's warmth was on her forehead.

When the wind stopped the pinkette found herself alone, with Sasuke's touch lingering. She looked up at the moon and smiled, a faint blush on her cheeks. Her heart was beating uncontrollably. She was blooming- just like the cherry blossoms.
