Rainbows

A girl should write of rainbows

And joy and peace and love

Of Spring's gently blooming blossoms

And cooing turtle doves.

A girl should speak as softly

As a little newborn fawn

Think of prosper, harmony, and progress

Of the earth, the sea, the dawns.

So They say, but oft forget

That dusk must lead the dawn

The sea is dangerous in its beauty

The earth suffers to move on.

Joy is only through sorrow

And love keeps close to hate

Peace is found at war's bloody price

Rainbows only form after storm abates.
