Summary: based off the awesome song by hachi, with a few twists of my own. "In the last chapter of humanity, they created large "umbrellas" to protect themselves from the raging deadly sun," the story they were told. However, a group of teenagers make it their goal to escape the "umbrella" prison they were locked in. Nalu, Gruvia, Jerza, Gale, and maybe a few more.
Hi! I've had this AU in mind for awhile, but now I'm actually writing this. I am actually only writing because I kinda have writers block on my other stories. Anyways lets start my first fairy tail fan fiction.
Prologue
third person POV
Lucy ran home from school that day, the story book they read in her hands. Opening the door, she ran to the kitchen to tell her mother about the story of why they were protected by the "umbrella" surrounding their city. She greeted her mother and showed her the story book. With a grin, she told her mother about how they learned that day the umbrella protected them from the deadly "sun." Despite her still hating the gloominess of the metal contraption, and how they always had to have an umbrella with them to protect them from the "leaks" plaguing them, she was glad it was for a good cause. Though her mother had known better than that, she still smiled and said with "Thats great Lucy!", continuing to clean the dishes. However, that night a tragedy occurred.
Many citizens had been woken up by alarms sounding out throughout the city, they weren't any regular old alarms though, unbeknownst to them. Lucy had not woken up because of the alarms, though. She woke up to her mother screaming. She immediately ran out of her room, only to find men she didn't know taking her mother forcefully out the door, and her father's dead body on the ground. She screamed in shock at the scene in front of her, not knowing what was going on. As her struggling mother continued screaming protests at the guards to let her go, Lucy immediately ran out the door after them to find her mom,
The sight she saw was an ugly one. There were many screams, some of agony, some of terror, some of support, homes on fire, people being carried away, others being held back, and at the town center, were lined up citizens and prisoners right by the gallows, which were only supposed to be on display for learning purposes. She made her way through the crowd, desperate to find her mother. Soon, she had made it to the front of the crowd, where she saw many adults and elders tied together in shackles.
The town mayor stood in front of the crowd, and after they quieted down he spoke. "Today we are here to witness the execution of the citizens top criminals, who are part of the criminal organization "Spirit Flame!" The crowd gasped in shock at his statement. It was impossible for Lucy to believe her mother was a criminal. One by one, each one was lead to the gallows, given time to say their last words, and were hung. There was a man with red hair, one with many piercings, one lady with black hair, one with dark blue hair, an old man who had a very frail body and a long beard, and a few others until it was only Lucy's mother left. With tears in her eyes, Layla was lead to the gallows, muttered "I'm sorry" (loud enough for Lucy to hear), and was killed. Lucy let out an ear piercing scream and tried to get up on stage to save her mother, but was held back. After it was all said and done, her mother pronounced dead, she was released and collapsed onto her knees, her mind unable to focus on anything. She knew she was crying and that her parents wouldn't come back, but she wasn't able to distinguish the people around her and their voices, trying to comfort her. She couldn't remove the images of their bodies from her head, and almost threw up. However, she soon had blacked out, her tired body unable to stay awake.
Soon after, she was brought in by the fairy tail foster home, along with the other kids who had all their family killed. However, she wasn't even half as cheerful as she used to be, and was constantly plagued by nightmares. Despite her roommates and a few others trying to help her, she almost seemed emotionless. Eventually though, she was able to move on from her emotionless "self" and became cheerful again, but it was almost seven years. After that day, none spoke of the events. Almost everyone lost someone they knew and loved. Soon it started being called "the bloody storm." And just like that, 10 years had passed.
I hope you like it. Please tell me what you think!
