Jo walked around her desk, moving folders filled with closed cases around, ready to be processed. Her shoes clicked as she walked over to detective Hanson's desk. Putting a hand to her hip, Jo tilted her head slightly in curiosity.
" Isn't today Henry's day off?, " Turning her head to look at the waiting area that could be seen from her spot, Jo directed her eyes to Henry Morgan who was dressed in a suit that looked to be fancier than what he regularly wore to work; he happened to be sitting there innocently with some flowers in hand. " And why does he have those flowers? " Jo raised an eyebrow at this. She couldn't think of anyone in the precinct that Henry would like or even bring flowers to.
Hanson turned to look to Henry as well, surprise fluttering over his features.
" Well, what'd you know. Doc's got himself a girlfriend. Didn't think he could do it, " Hanson wiped away an imaginary tear. " Makes me proud "
Jo scoffed, crossing her arms with an amused, open mouth smile. She shook her head in amusement.
" Who do you think is? "
Before Hanson got a chance to respond to the question he looked over Jo's shoulder and seemed to stop as the person got closer.
" Detective Martinez, Detective Hanson, I don't believe I pay you to stand around to talking about your coworkers. " came to stand next to Jo, hands behind her back. Raising an eyebrow, moved slightly to look at Henry's oblivious form before turning to look at the two detectives.
Hanson looked down in embarrassment, shuffling the papers on his desk awkwardly. Muttering an apology while scratching the back of his head. smirked and shifted to glance at the two before looking back to Henry.
" So, do you know who it is? "
The two detectives looked at their boss in surprise. Jo was the first to respond.
" That's what we were just trying to figure out " Jo put her hands in her pockets turning back to look at Henry, the other two following suit.
The doctor sat there, a modest amount of flowers in hand; nothing too extravagant or flashy. Henry had a small, content smile on his face as he seed to focus on nothing except for the actions of the people around him; the group was unnoticed.
" You don't think it could be that cute girl in reception? " Hanson muttered softly, moving to get a better look at Henry. Jo schooled her head.
" Can't be, he told me he didn't have any interest in her. " both and Hanson turned to glance at Jo with interest. She waved them off.
held up her fingers slightly, pointing to henry. " Wait, he's getting up. "
They all turned in interest, watching as Henry got up and held his arms open for a hug. It only took a couple seconds for the other person came into view and when they did, the group seemed to fill with confusion and surprise.
" Is that Lucas? " Jo says in surprise while Hanson raised his eyebrows at the hugging couple.
" Didn't expect that one. " The group watched as Henry offers the flowers to his assistant. Lucas smiled happily, taking the flowers in his grip before looking up to Henry's face. He said something that the detectives didn't quite hear when Lucas leaned forward and the two met in the middle with a kiss. It only lasted for a couple moments before it ended an the two wrapped their arms around each other and walked out together.
The three watched as they left and Hanson, Jo and looked at each other. was the first to respond, shaking her head with a smile as she walked away.
" Get back to work you two. "
Jo and Hanson looked at each other in disbelief before Hanson got back to work but now distracted for the encounter. Jo smiled and walked back to her desk hoping that the two will have a great time out.
