Lamplight flickers through the room as she traces her fingers down my back. I look away, breathing slowly, not wanting to move but wanting to run at the same time. Her hands gently zip my dress down, pulling the straps down my shoulders. Her lips lightly kiss my shoulder and I rest my forehead against the wall.
Sneaking up behind me gave her the upper hand, but I don't care. I'm sick of pushing her away, of not giving in, of denying how incredible it is to have her body so close to mine. Heat rises up through my core, spreading to the tips of my fingers, giving me goose bumps. I can feel her smile against my ear as her hands glide up and down my arms, pulling me closer to her. She tugs my hair over my shoulder, kissing my ear. I can hear her beautiful breath in my ear. Oh, how have I not given into this seduction before…
"Emma," I plead. She doesn't pause for a moment, still touching her lips to my ear, tracing my body with her hands, pulling my dress off all the way. "Emma…." Her mouth travels down my shoulder, heat in its path, following the curve of my neck.
I suck in a breath. I can't handle this. It's too toxic. Sinful. Wrong. Perfect. Exhilarating. Her. "Oh," I exhale, spinning around, grabbing her face, and kiss her hard on the mouth. She throws her arms around me, tugging me closer. Our mouths battle in a fury that mirrors our oh so heated arguments, her lips fitting mine like the missing piece of my life I've been waiting for.
She pulls away and I'm instantly sad, missing our contact. But she smiles at me, grabbing my hand, and I raise my eyebrow. She leads me up my staircase, looking back at me. I let her lead the way, thinking of how I'm usually the one in control, loving that I'm not.
The hand not holding mine grabs my door handle. But the door doesn't open. She tugs at it again, shaking the handle. "What the hell." She lets go of my hand, shaking the handle, shoving herself against the door. I laugh at her. "This isn't funny," she glares at me.
"Here, let me," I grin at her. She lets go of the door, grunting with aggravation. I shake my head, realizing that even this minor distraction hasn't broken the moment between us. I flick my hand at the door, letting the magic flow through my veins. The door easily clicks and opens.
She looks at me questioningly, crossing her arms. "Is that really necessary?"
I laugh, wrapping my arms around her waist. "Only when you're me," I say, kissing her on the lips, tasting the forest, adventure, and her Light magic.
She pulls back, gesturing to my bedroom, smiling at me, "Lead the way, Your Majesty," and bows her head jokingly.
"Oh shut up and kiss me, Swan," I smack her on the arm, laughing as we stumble into the room, wrapped up in each other's arms, passion sparking a fire that's only just begun.
