His phone was vibrating, and Dexter grabbed it out his hand before he could answer. "No girlfriends on stags. Ever." He declared, Fatboy backing him up. Joey let out a laugh, laughing even harder when Jay spoke. "Agreed boys agreed. But when Lauren's bitching tomorrow, I'm throwing the blame in your direction." His girlfriend did have a bit of a temper, and wasn't a morning person, something that Jay having dated Abi for long enough, was aware of. Dexter paused at this, before handing the phone back to Joey. "2 minutes bruv. 2 minutes."
Joey was still laughing when he answered the phone. "Everyone's scared of you babe. It's those slaps of yours that's done it". She let out a short laugh, but then fell silent. Joey held his hand up to the boys, stepping away from them.
"What's happened?"
"Sharon wants to know if we are getting married" He choked. "She what?" Like what was she thinking. They'd only been together a couple of months, like this time last year he didn't even know her. And yeah he loved her, but that's hardly the point is it. Like what was she thinking. And wait, what did Lauren answer. Before he could question her, she spoke again.
"And Lucy wants to know if that's even legal."
"Oh babe." He didn't even know what to say to that. It's total bitterness on the blonde's side, but he knew it still hurt the brunette. She may act the sarcastic bitch, but she did care about what other people thought, especially those she loved. "Why does she have to be such a cow Joey?"
"I honestly don't know Lauren, I don't." He muttered into the phone, thinking back to the comment the blonde had made it him earlier. "But we're good yeah?" He heard her agree down the phone. "So honestly who cares babe. I got you, and we're good. Better than good, we're great" he said cockily, hearing her laughter down the phone. "She can be alone and bitter. Because it's me and you, against it all." He glanced around to check on the boys, Dexter tapping his watch to tell him to wrap it up.
"Just like you promised." She spoke again, exactly. The night they were prepared to leave it all behind. The day she picked him over her best friends literally, and then over her family. When he promised her he'd look after her.
"Yeah. Babes I gotta go though." He heard movement down the phone, and his sister's voice in the background. "You gonna be okay?"
"Yeah I'll be fine. She just.. urgh." She sounded frustrated, and Jesus, when were things going to just be easy for them. "Go back to the boys" she teased. "Don't do anything stupid." He heard multiple lots of laughter down the phone.
"Mum says if y'all get arrested, you can wait until morning to phone. She don't care"
"Cheers baby, cheers."
"See you at the rehearsal. Love you"
"Aight. Love you too."
They hung up, and walking back to the boys who were making whipping noises at him, he smirked. "More drinks are needed boys, is this a stag night or not?!"
