A/N: Hi! Please Review! I don't own!
"Hey, Nny?", Squee asks, breaking the silence of the creaking house.
Nny's wings perk up in interest, looking at the little unicorn. The pegasus was much larger than him, Nny could literally wrap both of his wings around him and still not completely use their entire length.
"What is it, Squeegee?", Nny whispered, the little one cuddling into his side in response, resting his head on the larger of the two's back hoof.
"Well, it just that I've always wanted to know...what happened to your wings? Why are they all...molty?"
The dark blue pegasus snorted, hating having to explain his reasons of why his wings were almost devoid of feathers and scruffily ruined beyond all imagination. In fact, the story was how he got his cutie mark. The black box with a giant Z? in it mocked him even now. Hopefully, the little white blank-flank resting against him would get a good one. He saw Squee looking at him expectantly through tired eyes, The uni had woken up hours ago in a fit of nightmares, and hadn't gotten back to sleep. If this made him tired, then so be it.
"Alright, fine. Once upon a time…I was younger."
"And?", Squee ventured, push a bit closer to his caretaker, hiding under said wrecked wing.
"So I was sick. Maybe worse than I am now. I used to chew my wings excessively, used to pluck out my feathers.", Nny rested his head on his front hooves, sniffing lightly at the memory. His wings hurt still from the plucking.
"They never grew back?", The unicorn lifted his little head to look at his caretaker, noticing the tears in his eyes.
"No...Th-they never did...I think it has something to do with the ghoulish acts I perform daily. Some inherit darkness inside. It's poisoned me, Squee! Those acts have rotted my wings, maybe even my soul! It's gooey, thick, blackness has covered them and made them as naked and disgusting as a baby's bottom!", Nny gritted his teeth with the pain of the memories-of laughing colts in the sky as he looked on from the ground, of finally seeing fledglings again, of getting held down as they plucked him, of missing his friend the moon.
"Nny?", Squee asked as he lifted himself until he could wipe away his friend's tears with a hoof, "Is that why you don't fly?"
Containing his sobs deep in his chest, Nny nodded. How he wished to fly again!
"Well, maybe the problem isn't you!", Squee told him, nuzzling into the larger one's mangy, yet soft chest fur, "Maybe the problem is that you never had friends before! Especially not a unicorn!"
On cue, the little horn on his forehead glowed blue, blowing both pony's dark manes back. Instantly, the stallion's wings had turned from completely ruined to fully fledged. Nny's eyes widened as Squee hopped up and down from excitement from completing the spell.
"Y-you...did it!", Nny grasped the young foal tight to his chest, "Thanks, Squeegee! I should help you."
"Huh?", The colt questioned.
Without missing a beat, Nny started humming softly, tucking his charge under his newly fixed wing with his nose. Squee yawned, curling into his friend's side securely as it was draped over him.
"Goodnight, Nny. I love you."
Nny snorted, interrupting his humming. Squee...loved him? Impossible! No one loved Nny, he was sure of it! If the stallion had a mother, she probably wouldn't love him either! But Squee… The blue pegasus looked down at the now slumbering little friend of his.
"I...love you too, Squeegee…"
