"Have you been smoking, girl?"

Lucian had been having a bad day. First the merchant girl and her pirate boyfriend had found the Lycan hide out. Once they'd found out it really was an accident, both of them were drunk to their cheeks. Lucian had been about to simply let them go when Alice, the merchant girl, spoke.

"Listen Hatter, it's the White Rabbit!"

Lucian was a Lycan, a werewolf. Being called a rabbit was not a compliment. His reply was more of a roar.
"What did you call me?"

Alice's expression fell and the pirate stood up.
"Be nice to the poor girl!" He exclaimed as he waved his jug of rum. "She's a bit disturbed!"
"What are you talking about?" Lucian snarled.
"I'm Captain Jack Sparrow." He held out his hand. Lucian didn't shake his hand.
"Okay then. Well when we met I was boarding her ship. She's been calling me Hatter and insisting I helped her fight in some war. She's dellusional, adapting people to the 'Wonderland' she dreamed up."
"...You don't seem to be lying."
"Sir," Jack laughed, "This is more insane then I could dream up. But you've made her cry over the misunderstanding." He gestured to where Alice sat sniffling, "And probably shattered her illusion."

Lucian glanced at Alice for a moment. She hadn't meant any harm. Perhaps he had been harsh. A bit prematurely he decided to trust the pirate.
"Think I can make it up?"

That was how Alice's faintest memory of the evening when she woke up with a hangover would be of a man with a beard hopping with false ears and a large pocket watch.
