Jade was having a rough day. She couldn't believe what had just happened. There she was covered in mud and arguing with Vega and everyone was laughing at her.

"LIKE I'M REALLY GONNA LISTEN TO YOU VEGA," she snapped, "You have a lot to learn about timing. Do you really think now was the best time to say what you said!"

Tori rushed to apologize realizing that she was out of line. Then Jade started singing softly.

I'm a little boy with glasses

The one they call a geek

A little girl who never smiles

Cause I've got braces on my teeth

And I know how it feels

To cry myself to sleep

Suddenly nobody was laughing. Everyone was looking at Jade.

She was obviously doing a good job making a point. Now every eye was on her but it wasn't because of the mud or because of what VEGA had just said. Beck came up to her and put an arm around her.

I'm that kid on every playground

Who's always chosen last

I'm the one that's slower then

The others in my class

You don't have to be my friend

But is it too much to ask

Her voice got stronger as she continued.

Don't laugh at me

Don't call me name

Don't get your pleasure from my pain

In the Father's eyes

We're all the same

Some day we'll all have perfect wings

Don't laugh at me

Beck was cheering. He loved so much about Jade and her voice was no exception. She was so perfect in his eyes and he was mad at the people who were being mean to her but he was proud of how she was putting them in their place.

I'm the beggar on the corner

You pass me on the street

I wouldn't be out here begging

If I had enough to eat

Don't think I don't notice

That our eyes never meet

Now everyone was looking at her and paying attention. The fact that she was covered with mud was no longer an issue. Nobody seemed to care how she looked. They were just listening to her.

I was born a little different

I do my dreaming from this chair

I pretend it doesn't hurt me

When people point and stare

There's a simple way to show me

Just how much you care

At that point Beck jumped in the mud that Jade slipped into. Soon everyone else followed his example. Now Jade wasn't the odd one out. She wasn't the one that was covered with mud. She was one of the ones covered.

Don't laugh at me

Don't call me names

Don't get your pleasure from my pain

In the Father's eyes

We're all the same

Someday we'll all have perfect wings

Don't laugh at me

Everyone was singing with her now. It was incredible.

I'm fat

I'm thin

I'm short

I'm tall

I'm deaf

I'm blind

Hey aren't we all

Jade finished up with the last verse.

Don't laugh at me

Don't call me names

Don't get your pleasure from my pain

In the Father's eyes

We're all the same

Someday we'll all have perfect wings

Don't laugh at me

Nobody was laughing. Everyone was applauding.
