A/N: This is a short story on Graces thoughts throughout the movie. Now I've only seen this movie twice so I'm hoping I remember enough of it.
She didn't like to think she was better than people but as she got buzzed up to Miss. Hannigans apartment she had to be a little cocky. It made her sad though, growing up she had all of life's opportunities handed to her on a silver platter when she grew up in London. When she was a little girl she did however think she was an orphan. She grew up not in the presence of her parents but maids and nanny's.
When the other girls followed Annie out to the car, Grace wished that she could take them all with her. But she was just doing a job. A job that Will had wanted her to do. Honestly, she would have done anything he'd asked her. She saw Annie give out all the candy in the car, well most of it to all of the other foster kids. Annie was definitely a special little girl.
Everything had moved so fast and all of a sudden Grace was programming Annie's voice into the smart house software. Something she had helped design for Will. Of course one was too expensive to have in her own apartment so from time to time she liked to come in and play with the house. And then she was showing Annie around. She smiled at the amazement and wonder in the little girls eyes. She felt almost motherly towards Annie. But she knew it was all a ploy just to get Will elected Mayor of New York City. It wouldn't last.
Will had called her late in the evening and asked her if she still had access to the Moonquake Lake tickets and if she could get more for Annie's friends. So they had all gone together and it had been so much fun, almost like a family. And then Will had to go, leaving Grace with the girls, which she did not mind at all. These girls were great.
After dropping all of the girls off Annie had asked Grace if they could make a stop. They sat outside that restaurant until last call, drawing their names in chalk on the sidewalk across the street. The owner had even handed Grace a canoli, it was absolutely delicious.
Grace had come to help Annie tie the bow on the dress she had bought her. When she walked into the house Will just stared at her. She blushed. He had told her she looked beautiful. He had never said anything like that before to her. It was nice to hear for once.
Annie had sung beautifully as the Guggenheim it had shocked both Grace and Will. But Grace could then feel the girls pain as she ran off, not being able to read the prompter. Will had followed Annie out and Grace was quickly behind them. They were at the entrance of the park when the paparazzi had began to harass them. Annie clung to Grace and Grace tried to shield her as best she could from them, going into a protective mother mode, something she had never done before.
Everything had fallen apart. Grace stood with Will as they watched Annie meet her parents; the parents that Guy had found. Grace could tell how much pain Will was in. He loved that little girl so much, so did she. Ever since Annie came into their lives Grace would dream that they were a family. A family that lived together and went on vacations together. All of that was being taken away.
When Miss. Hannigan and the rest of the girls came in Grace's heart filled with dread, what if something had happened to Annie. How could Guy have done this? And then she her heart filled with rage. It felt so good to punch Guy in the face.
And then they had found Annie, and Grace and Will had kissed. Finally. Annie would be theirs and slowly, Grace's dreams became reality.

Told you it was short.
