Chloe had had enough. Enough of everything. Enough of being the go to girl for everyone's troubles, and the IT technician.
So the last thing she wanted tonight, on the only quiet night Watchtower had seen in months, was Clark Kent to come bursting in.
"Chloe! What the hell!" Clark yelled storming in grabbing Chloe firmly by her shoulders.
"What is it Clark, what couldn't wait 10 hours until tomorrow morning?" Chloe replied pushing his arms off and walking over to one of her many monitors, before typing absentmindedly.
"I just had a run in with Tess Mercer, who kindly informed me about the stash of Kryptonite weapons you've been hiding! Kryptonite Chloe! That stuff can kill me, did you not take five minutes to think about that!"
"And What about the rest of the planet Clark!" she spat back vehemently, "what about us humans, when your Kandorian friends decide it gets too crowded on Earth for their liking and decide to start knocking us off one by one! We have to be able to protect our people, just like you want to protect your people. It seems like soon you may have to decide where your loyalties lie!"
Chloe looked straight into Clarks eyes and whispered in a voice so low that only Clarks ears could hear "I will not be blinded by false hope, or your pathetic daddy issues!"
At this Clark snapped, and with a look of pure rage in his eyes, back-handed Chloe sending her flying into her desk, and sped off. Chloe blinked a few times, not believing what had just happened, before she let darkness take over.
Thirty minutes later….
Oliver Queen walks through the elevator doors and into Wathctower, when he notices something is wrong. The usually spotless room has broken glass scattered around the floor with papers that usually sit on the organised desk spread across the room. Then he notices it. The golden blonde hair sticking out from behind the desk.
"Chloe!" Oliver rushes over to find her on the floor unconscious in a crumpled heap, her usually porcelain skin bruised on her right cheek and blood dripping from her nose and lip. "Who did this to you!" he said softly shaking her.
Chloe's eyes fluttered open and wincing in pain she croaked "Ollie?". Seeing that it was really him she sat up quickly and crushed her head into his chest sobbing hysterically.
"What happened!" he asked firmly "nothing will happen to you I promise just tell me who did this!" Wiping her tears away with his thumbs and pushing her hair back, he looked into her eyes and raised his eyebrows expectantly.
Chloe muttered "Clark" so quietly that Oliver barely heard her.
"What do you mean Clark?" he growled
"Me and Clark got into a fight… and he well.." She took a deep breath and gused out "he lost his temper, I said something I shouldn't have, and he found out about the weapons!" The tears were now coming thick and fast down her face "Its all my Fault" she wailed.
Oliver scooped her up into his arms and lay her down in the Watchtower bedroom. He hurried to the bathroom and soaked a cloth in warm water before tending to her wounds. "Please don't leave me" Chloe begged, gripping onto his bicep. Promising that he would stay he pressed a sweet kiss to her lips and her forehead before wrapping his arms protectively around her and lulling her to sleep.
When she had finally drifted off Oliver slipped from the room picking up a lead case. "I will not let anyone hurt Chloe again. I care too much for her" he muttered under his breath before walking back into the bedroom and kissing Chloe the top of her head whispering "I love you".
As he left he opened the box, to show a green glow coming from with in it.
The last thing he said as he left the room was
"Clark"
