"Another hot day," James said, lying down next to the pool with his friend Carlos, Kendall, and Logan. They all knew today was one day where they should just laze around and not try to pull anything.

Katie pranced up to them, her brown doe-like eyes hidden beneath a pair of large sunglasses.

"What are you guys doing?" she asked, almost innocently.

"What does it look like we're doing?" Carlos asked back.

"Nothing."

"Exactly, nothing," Logan commented. He was reading a magazine on the newest space discoveries, while the rest were just, well, resting.

"Nothing?"

"Yes, nothing. Katie can you just please leave us alone?" Kendall asked, just a hint of snappiness hiding in his tone. it was the perfect day to do nothing.

She shrugged, not caring for this day was too hot to care, and walked off.

The four boys continued lazing all day. It may be February, but they were in California, where it was warm all year round.

Across town though, a very different story was brewing.

Kamber Thames' family was just moving to LA. Well, if you could call it a family. It was she and her father that were moving. Kamber rarely talked to him, if at all, but he gained custody of her. She did not enjoy it one bit, for a reason of no mention for now.

She sighed, blowing a piece of her of red hair out the way. She was bored with the custody game, and more so her father, and life for that matter. She didn't leave much behind moving here with her father. She left behind a fully furnished bedroom and a caring mother. She had no real friends or boyfriends before she left. Kamber never had a boyfriend before, in fact. All her friends went away two years previous.

Her father had been sent to jail but finally managed out. Kamber was just so over trying to fight in a losing fight. She gave up caring.

Her life had already spiraled down and was never coming back. Until, of course… well I'll save that for later.

Since the two different groups are very different, it is a wondrous matter of how to two eventually collide.
