'Where...?
Where is...everyone?'
Everything,
anything,
was gone.
You were alone - completely - in the new, extinguished world.
Your family, long dead.
Your pets, disappeared.
All you had left?
The clothes on your back and a single flashlight.
You had hoped at least one part of your family survived. Though, sadly this is not the case.
You took your humble flashlight and set off into the vast, empty world.
A L O N E.
By the light of the full, silvery moon, you trekked your way to the Big Red Tower farther East of your abandoned home;
only to stumble upon a strange Amusement park. There, you found someone.
His name?
It was Crow, you learned.
"Hey! Who the hell are you? What're you doing in my amusement park, huh?"
His sharp green eyes bore into your own pair, a slight sneer curled his lips.
You opened your mouth to speak-
"I-I, err, uhh, well...!"
"Huh. Can't talk, eh? Well, that's fine. I'll do the talkin' then! Answer my questions and maybe I won't hurt you!" he jabbed a black-gloved finger at your shoulder blade, making your wince and pull back; you rubbed the now sore spot soothingly.
"Now, where are you from?" he demanded, pacing around you like a vulture - or at least, you thought that was what a vulture did, you've read about it in a book once - his gaze never left your own.
"I-I'm from...no where..." you barely whispered.
"Ha! What a lie!" he boasted, stopping in his tracks.
"E-excuse me?"
The young man beamed a sarcastic smirk. "Oh-ho-ho! Struck a nerve, didn't I?"
"Agh! I-! You-! BAGH!" your cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
His finger came at you again, this time zoning in on your forehead. Although, unlike the last time, you swatted his hand away.
"Ahahaha! You're so dumb! Now, on to my next question, your name is what?"
"Why should I tell you my name?" You growled lowly.
The raven-haired young man began to pace around you again, this only made you even more aggravated. "Because," he pursed his lips. "It's the polite thing to do."
"Polite? POLITE? You're lecturing me about being polite? If you're so polite," you spat. "Then tell me your name first!"
"Crow." he said with a taunt smirk.
"What?"
"That's my name. Now, yours?"
You hissed your answer with a downcast gaze. "[Name]." you grumbled unpleasantly.
Crow laughed, jumping in the air and delicately landing on a giant pig statue in the middle of the run-down amusement park. It was like he was...weightless.
"Well, [Name]," he started, taking on a more relaxed position. "Wanna be friends?"
All time and space stood still, the wind that caught your hair blew softer.
"Friends?" you whispered; the term was foreign to you. You've never really had a friend before...
"Yeah, friends." he was in front of you, his pale face appearing to glow underneath the moon's full, luminescent beam.
(You wouldn't admit to yourself that you thought he looked, er, attractive.)
You couldn't help but allow red to paint over your cheeks. "And you know what friend do? Give each other gifts."
"Gi-?"
Forcefully, his lips pressed themselves against yours, his hands gripping your shoulders with a firm grasp. It was almost as if he didn't want you to escape his 'gift'.
This...
This has never happened to you before! This was your first kiss! And it was with a complete stranger! Oh Lord, your parents would be turning in their graves if they could see you now!
You noticed something, though.
Crow's lips...they were really soft...
He pulled apart from your mouth, still smiling, though this time it seemed more triumphant, if anything.
"Now, we're best friends."
You could not stop the sensation...
...of wanting to smile back.
"Best friends." you repeated.
Now, you knew you weren't alone in this cold, vacant world anymore.
At least you had Crow.
