A/N: This is a fun oneshot I wrote for a prompt I received from my best friend, OtakuShuichi.
Disclaimer: I don't own Hayato or Ryu or anything else recognizable. It all belongs to people with much more worth than I possess. I'm unworthy!
Brightly colored lights shown above the city as Yabuki Hayato and Odagiri Ryu strolled the streets. They didn't want to go home just yet, but their other friends had already gone home for the night, so Ryu and Hayato were just wandering about trying to find something to do. It was as they passed their favorite takoyaki stand that they noticed the lights shining overhead. "I wonder what those lights are," said Hayato offhandedly. Ryu didn't comment, but he did turn his eyes to the lights his best friend mentioned. "Wanna go check it out?"
Ryu just rolled his eyes to look at Hayato and breathed a soft sigh, which Hayato took as a yes. "Let's go!" The two fighters followed the lights until they came across something they never expected. "A festival?" asked Hayato in confusion. Ryu just looked around at everything, silent as usual. "I didn't know there was anything going on today."
The best friends walked around the festival, watching all the adults running around acting like idiots. It was only after several minutes of staring that Ryu noticed that there weren't any kids running around with the adults. "You notice something?" asked Ryu.
Hayato looked lost in the festival excitement. "No, what?" he asked.
"No kids," said Ryu. Hayato took a second and closer look around and realized Ryu was right.
"I wonder why there aren't any," mused Hayato as they walked. As they watched the goings on of the festival, they thought some of the people there were acting a bit strange. A lot of them were dancing all over the place, and there weren't a lot of the usual festival games.
One thing in particular caught Ryu's eye. "Is that...?" he asked. When Hayato gave him a questioning look, the thin boy just pointed at one of the game stalls. Hayato followed his gaze, and what he saw shocked him to the core. The prizes they saw at that stall were fuzzy handcuffs, jeweled masks, and fishnet stockings.
Looking around some more, the boys realized that the "dancing" the people were doing was actually very erotic, and it made even them blush a bright red. "Hello, boys," said a cheerful voice. They turned to the voice and were met by a big man in a red clown costume with his face painted white. "Would you like to win a prize for your significant other?" the man asked, raising his eyebrows suggestively.
Hayato blanched and Ryu's eyes widened at the game the creepy clown was indicating. The object of the game was to throw tennis balls at a stack of beer bottles and knock them all down to see the racy picture of a young woman behind them. "What the heck is this place?!" demanded Hayato.
To make matters worse, the clown put an arm around Hayato's shoulders. "What do you say?" he asked. "Would you like to win something for your boy here?" Neither high schooler said anything, but they both turned and ran as quickly as they knew how to get away from that festival. Once they felt they were a safe distance away, they stopped for a breather.
"What in the world kind of festival was that?" asked Hayato as they tried to regain their breath.
Ryu shrugged his shoulders and shook his head. "I don't know," he huffed, "but nobody finds out about this."
"Deal," Hayato wheezed. Once they were breathing easily once again, the two looked around to make sure there was nobody they knew nearby and discreetly resumed their walk as if nothing had ever happened.
