In a modest looking house on Godric's Hollow, was a house that would forever be a part of legend. Inside the house were the owners, two people who were married and were expecting a child on the way in July.

In front of the fireplace, Lily Potter was in her rocking chair knitting a blanket. She stopped and rubbed her very large belly. The only evidence of the child to be. She knew it was going to be a boy, she felt it with every fibre of her being.

The door closed and Lily looked up to see the love of her life, the handsome James Potter with a very graven expression on his face. She put down her knitting tools and outstretched her hands. James came to her and kneeled to hug her and lay one hand on her belly.

"How are you Lily?" asked James.

"I'm fine, and the baby is fine too. What's wrong James, I have seen you come home the last few nights with the gravest of face. What happened?" asked Lily concerned.

"I have some bad news, it involves us and our baby." Answered James sadly.

"What is it?" asked Lily fearfully.

"Dumbledore came to me today, and told me that we must prepare ourselves for what will come. Voldemort is massing an army out there and we have lost some dear friends of ours. You know that my job will place me and you right on the front lines of that danger." James explained.

"You're going to join the Order aren't you?" asked Lily.

"Yes, it's the only way to protect you and the baby. We can hide you from them. Somewhere safe and I won't have to worry so much about you…"started James.

"I won't go into hiding, I won't not without you. Even if you do hide me, I will worry about you regardless. I won't hide from them….I will not surrender my home! This is my place and this is your place as well. You need to be here, for the baby and for me! For our family! You just can't go traipsing off to battle and leaving me behind. If you fight, then so do I! Not one of us will go through this alone!" argued Lily.

"Lily, you are far too important, to our son. He will need you. I must do what I must. I can't have you die because of me! I want our son have the chance of being born and have the chance of having you as a mother." James cried as he collapsed to the floor.

Lily struggled to get out of her rocking chair and joined him on the floor. She cradle him to her arms and smoothed his hair, "My life is not worth it if I lose you before our son has the chance of knowing you. You are just as important to this family. We can do something to protect all of us. I know we can. We must!"

James looked up from her arms and looked into her eyes, "It's funny that you say that, Dumbledore mentioned something to me earlier tonight. He said, "If you must die, die serving something greater than yourself." I know what he meant by that now. Alright, I will stay with you, we will stay together despite the danger that is tearing our world apart tonight."

Lily laughed and smiled, "At least, we will prove Voldemort and his minions wrong, love is the most powerful weapon we have. So let's tick them off honey. Let's stick it to them. Damn them and whoever comes in our way!"

Lily and James held to each other tightly, knowing that their fates have already been written. They held each other, determined to let the moment stretch into eternity.

From outside, no one knew what these two people are going through, and no one knew the fates of those inside and outside. Time goes forward, stopping for no one. And so it begins and so it will end. Let those words spark a vision inside all of us, let it consume us and shape the future to come.

The End
