Title: Semper Fi
Rating: T for some violence, blood, and language...
Pairing(s): None, and if there was, it would be Huddy.
Timeframe: season 3
Spoilers: Ep 16
Summary: An ex-Marine shows up at PPTH with another medical mystery for House. Casefic. Based somewhat on spoilers for ep. 16.
Disclaimer: I don't own House. Need I say more?
Author's Notes: This idea was lurking in my head for the past week and I decided to make a fic out of it. I'm not sure exactly where this is going, or if it will be able to get anywhere.
Before, I'd use my age to excuse my own crappy grammar and spelling, but now that I'm about 16, that excuse doesn't really work anymore. My writing skills have actually gotten worse since I last tried to write a fic. Sorry if this totally sucks. :)
The objective was to recon a terrorist hideout and move to extraction. How simple. Unfortunately, botchy intel made the mission into a complicated rescue in Iraq. The maps they used were outdated and they were dropped off into a area full of hostiles rather than a safe drop off point. They were trapped, surrounded by resistance in nearby buildings and on ground. Basically, they were fucked.
Lance Corporal Derek Faust dove for cover behind an abandoned vehicle. He took aim at the hostiles in the building across the street from behind the car. Right when his sights were on target, his vision started to double. "Shit!" he said aloud as his hands started shaking. Bullets began striking the side of the car and instead of ducking for cover, he began shooting erradically.
"What the fuck is wrong with you!? You just gunned down a fucking Marine!" he heard his Staff Sergaent yell, who was next to him the whole time.
Faust panicked and began to run out to the middle of the street where the Marine he just shot lay. The fallen Marine watched from the ground as the man who just shot him was just shot himself while was running toward his position. The Marine was shot three times--once in his right thigh, stomach, and another grazed his neck. His blood was in a pool around him and it began to soak the ground below him. He was drifting into unconsciousness when he heard someone call out to him.
"House?"
He tried to respond but nothing seemed to come out.
"HOUSE! Wake up!"
House opened his eyes to see Cuddy hovering over him. "Huh?" he said groggily. Cuddy sighed.
"Took you a while--you have a new case."
House rubbed his eyes and took the file that Cuddy was handing to him. He opened it and looked at the patient's name: Derek Faust.
So... how was that? Lame, I'm guessing. Review anyway, haha. Sorry it's so short.
