"I can't do it Eugene. It's not possible."
His eyes were sad, yet filled with hope that he could change her mind.
She was nestled in his strong arms, while they both stood on a balcony of fresh autumn air. The wind was crisp, and the sun was warm.
"Blondie, I know you. And I know that you would be a wonderful mother. Trust me, please," he pleaded with her.
But she frowned, and turned away, so her back was pressed against his stomach.
"I want to say yes, I do!" Rapunzel told her husband sincerely. She truly wanted her own children with him, she did, but with her past with the evil witch Gothel, it seemed nearly impossible. She was raised in this awful environment, and how could she raise her own child while she had such a troubled past?
Of course, Rapunzel did have some hope due to the fact that she was now the found princess of Corona, and she and her husband would always be madly and passionately in love, and she had a loving family, including Max and Pascal, but the negative feelings overrode the positive, and she found herself sad, that having a family with Eugene would not happen, on her own behalf.
She sighed sadly and pulled away from his arms.
"I'm sorry Eugene, I can't do it. I'm not the right person to raise children." She pressed her lips to the pulse on his neck and tried to ignore the numb, but depressed look on his face.
PRESENT DAY
Rapunzel skidded around a corner of the castle as she raced to find her husband. Her eyes were shining with happiness, and her smile was extra radiant. She slowed to a stop as she reached their bedroom, where she padded to the door. The blonde slowly pushed it open, and found her husband making their bed.
"Eugene!" She pranced over to him and wrapped her arms tightly around his waist and squealed into his chest.
"Whoa, Blondie, what's got you so excited?" He snickered, and lightly kissed the crown of her head.
She took a deep breath. "I have to tell you something." Rapunzel squeezed her eyes shut and bit her lip, her excitement skyrocketing.
"Okay...What's going on?" He pulled back to glance warily at her.
"Remember that conversation we had about kids?" She asked.
His face fell slightly. "Of course I do..." He trailed off.
"Well, I thought about it, and yestersay when my mother and I were in the garden, I had this epiphany sort of thing, and I realized, that that was what I wanted!"
Eugene raised an eyebrow and opened his mouth to speak, but his wife was quicker than that.
"Let me finish!" She squealed happily.
"I want that Eugene, I want a family with you. I may not be perfect at it, but I have you, and my parents, and Pascal and Max. I can learn, I can ask my mother for tips, and I know that we CAN do it Eugene! I just know it!"
She watched his face anxiously before he spoke. Her anxiety then grew, as his face grew lifeless, and she was terrified he'd changed his mind.
"Are you...are you serious?" He questioned.
She gulped. "Yes," was all she said
Suddenly, his face grew brighter and an enormous grin appeared on his face. He grabbed her hips and pulled her to his chest where he spun them both around in a circle.
"Rapunzel, I love you so much. I love you. I just, I love you. Thank you baby, thank you so much."
She grinned and pulled his lips down to meet hers, where their lips danced in synchronization.
"I love you too," she murmured in between kisses.
Eugene swept her up in his arms and carried her to the bed.
"Can we practice baby making now?" he wondered.
"Mmm, sounds like a lovely idea..."
And so they did.
