There was a tale of heroes and villains; monsters and warriors; friends and foes; light and darkness. It is a rather popular tale, so I believe you get the idea. In order to save some time, I'll cut to the chase.

After a bloody and violent war, part of the aftermath was the release of the infamous Tailed Beasts. They were free to roam the Earth as they please, to finally be left unsealed. No more jinchuriki were needed. No more children had to be subjective to the prejudice of having a monster locked within them without a say. To be both a prison and a weapon. The trend of a corrupted future came to an end.

At least, for a while…

As much as a sunny, miracle ending was ideal, the flaws of humanity reared their heads and howled in defiance.

Greed…

Pride…

Lust for power…

Fear…

Curiosity…

Weakness…

While in small doses they are harmless. When hundreds of the worst cases are directed at a single target, then true evil is born from the amalgamation of faults.

And what greater target is there then the walking beasts, the ones who had finally been unchained?

The stupidity and luck of a few were enough to start an inferno of pain. A small group, friends with the same ambition for ill-achieved strength, had stumbled upon the nest of a Tailed Beast. Unfortunately, even this group of imbeciles had their talents. They laid their trap, a jutsu that would cage the beast, and waited. Upon its return, true hell broke loose.

An act of self-defense turned into hysteria and panic. People feared that the Tailed Beasts they had feared for lifetimes returned with a vengeance. Riots proclaiming the destruction of these 'monsters' flooded the streets around the Kage. These flames were spurred higher along the path those idiots paved.

Instead of the foolhardy and overzealous, the competent and strong took the reins. They were hunted for the demons they were colored to be. A new war broke out, one between the hunters and Tailed Beasts. Lives, both innocent and guilty, were lost to the fray. And then one day, the worst happened:

They succeeded.

For years, a beast vanished into the clutches of those crooked hunters. It took many tries, but the Tailed Beast was freed. Except for one thing…

It had been sealed inside a child. And in that struggle, the child passed away.

That was the final straw. The Kage assembled and came to a consensus: create and train the next generation of jinchuriki.

Call it stupid. Call it genius. Call it whatever you may, but it was the grim truth. Leaving the Tailed Beasts to themselves was met with disastrous outcomes. Plainly sealing them away held a lack of security and the possibility of the seal failing. The most promising results had been the jinchuriki, which the enemy had clearly noticed.

They had to be trained, guided, nurtured, and protected above all else. The plan went something like this: the Kage would lead their nations in the capturing of the Tailed Beasts they had before the Shinobi War. After that, a child would be chosen according to guidelines set by their respective land. These new jinchuriki would be raised in their homelands, with assistance from the other Kage. And then, once they were deemed mature enough, they would be sent to neutral ground in order to be taught together. They would grow together and depend on each other, protecting one another like nobody else possibly could.

And that is where this story begins…
