A.N.: First Karmy story I've written. This idea has been rolling around in my head for a few years now and I've finally decided to get it down on paper. Enjoy and don't hold back. No hate for any character!

Unknown Person's POV:

Red hair flashed over the girl's shoulder as she ran out of the art room. Karma Ashcroft is yet again running away from her problems. A small grin grazed my face as I flashed out of view. I stayed in the shadows as I followed her through the streets of Austin. Followed her all the way to the garden. The garden her and Amy found one day when they were playing tag and stumbled onto it. I watched her fall to her knees and weep. I know I'm not supposed to intervene outside of my orders, but I couldn't help myself. I reached out to touch her arm. "Are you ok?" I whispered to her.

She whipped her head around so fast I thought it would fall off. "Who…?" She squinted her eyes at me. "Ya, I'm fine. Just a little… upset." Karma glanced off into the distance. Her eyes were swimming with her worries and missed opportunities. She turned back to face me, "My life's just a bit complicated lately." She gave a dry chuckle. "If you could even call a life anymore."

"You want to talk about it? I'm a doctor, it's kind of my job."

"No, that's ok. I should be getting home anyway." She started to get up and brush off her jeans. She took a few a steps before turning around and thanking me and then not looking back.

I turned to look at you to see you frowning at me. "You can't keep doing stuff life this. Boss man is going to find out one way or another, Jane."

I nodded back at you, only half hearing your warning. "I have been waiting so long for this assignment, Jeff, so DON'T mess it up for me!"

"I'm just here to make sure that YOU don't blow our cover," he glared at me, "we all know what could happen if you get left alone." He gave me the look he liked to save for occasions like this.

"Let's get back."
