Disclaimer: I do NOT own Kingdom Hearts or its characters.

A/N: Hello. It's been a few months since I last wrote, not counting the two one-shots I posted recently. I was inspired to write again by a movie I watched recently. I don't want to make this note long than it has to be so I'll finish this up with this; I don't know when I'll update my existing stories however I am resolved to finish all my WIPs so don't worry that I'm abandoning them. In the meantime, I hope everyone enjoys this.

You threw me from grace

And I fell farther still

Sora ran his finger down the window pane, tracing the path one of many raindrops. It hadn't started thundering yet but it would, it always did. As if on cue, the thunder started

'Rain is the Angels tears,' he mused as lightening split the sky and a clap of thunder disturbed the steady thrum of raindrops hitting the surface of everything.

'Nothing touches as many things as rain does,' another stray thought that made little sense.

Hollow Bastion tended toward gloomy weather on any given day, the storms having been a common occurrence for years now.

With a sigh suited to an older being than Sora, he turned and walked away from the window and moved further into his apartment. The three rooms, one bathroom space where he lived was adequate enough that he didn't have any complaints.

His roommate had moved out earlier in the week, having found a decent enough job to move in with his boyfriend. He was happy for him but Sora found himself feeling lonely. Maybe it was time for a pet or another roommate but the latter didn't appeal to him and the former was a shaky idea at best.

A particularly vicious clap of thunder was followed by a lose of electricity. Sora slowly closed his eyes, trying not to scream in frustration. It coiled in his gut and threatened to crawl up his throat to choke him. Breathing deeply to maintain control, Sora made his way to the kitchen area through memory. Once he reached the area where he kept the candles, Sora felt his way to drawer that held the flashlights. He rummaged through it for several seconds before realizing Roxas had taken both of them.

Sora shoved the drawer close hard, the miscellaneous items inside clacking and rolling. Turning on his heel, Sora headed for the bedroom. He was exhausted and sleeping couldn't have been a better idea.

~+~*~+~*~+~*~+~*~+~

Tis not out of cruelty that I do this.

Why do you cast me out? I have been faithful. I have not fallen; only they dare deny you.

Instead of an answer, he woke up. Panting, Riku put an arm across his eyes. These dream-memories were really starting to freak him out. Annoying didn't cover the half of it as these dreams had been plaguing him for several months now. Right before his roommate had moved out he had been complaining about Riku talking in his sleep. Instead of trying to fall back asleep, Riku threw back the covers with a groan, keeping the arm firmly over his eyes as he swung his legs over the side of the bed.

Most of his things were already packed and ready for the move. Traverse town wasn't far from Hallow Bastion, a city to the east of Traverse town. He had recently been promoted but the promotion required he move to where the company had set up shop years ago when it was still newborn; Hallow Bastion. So now he was moving into an apartment building there. If all went according to plan, he'd be settled by the end of the week.

A headache started pulsing beneath his skull as he walked over to the window. The pane had tears tracing paths upon the glass.

You cast me from grace

And still I fall farther
