Akari and Kathy lay on their backs, the dew-covered grass pricking at their spines while the surrounding blades danced in the spring breeze. Their hands locked into such a tight embrace they fell nearly limp to their side. The pair stared up at the fluffy clouds lazily drifting around the sky- their endless ocean of eternity. There was somewhat of a mutual silence, one acknowledged between the two friends. No words would break through the fragile wall of silence that was betwixt the pair. That is, until Akari raised her index finger and pointed to a cloud hovering above them. "That one... looks like an elephant," she glanced at Kathy, who was somewhat dazed with a blank stare, but blinked at being returned to Earth.
"Huh? No way! It totally looks like Mayor Hamilton!" the last bit rolled off into a giggle, that eventually was shared between the friends, followed by the utter silence lurking back in place as the friends were utterly engrossed by the sky one again. The spring breeze rippled the blades of grass surrounding them, and Akari felt a chill crawl up her spine like a spider set on sinking its teeth into her skin. She tightened her grip of Kathy's hand, and Kathy, too, tightened her grip of Akari's hand.
This time, it was Kathy who pointed up at a fleeting cloud. "See that one? It's so big, and round. It must be-"
"Owen's head," Akari interrupted with a somewhat teasing mock in her voice. Kathy flushed a pale pink, eventually relieved as she laughed it off; though even the wind whistling through the valley seemed a mocking laughter.
{you will have many clouds in your life. they will fleet in and out as they please, sometimes leaving behind storms and damage. but you will have only one sun; one that shines brightly every day as long as you live. and even in the darkest of the nights, you know the sun will rise once again to engulf you in its warmth and love.}
