It hurt. Everything. She just wanted it to stop. Stop whatever was hurting. So she slit her wrists. It made the pain in her heart go away for just a moment and she was okay again. She never stopped crying though.
She missed the Doctor. He distracted her. Made her forget the gaping hole inside of her. But he was not here. He said he was scared that she would get killed if she went with him. She would not mind dyeing though.
There was something she was missing. Her unconscious told her so, just like it told her that she was crying and in pain. But her conscious told her something different. She had not lost anything. She was okay. How could she miss something she never had? But then again, why was she crying? Why did it hurt?
She did not like to be alone. She hated it. It hurt much more when she was alone. She should not take it anymore. The pain. She let the blade run deeper than before.
She felt empty. Numb. She walked across the nothing. Around her walked others. They looked numb too. Out of the corner of her eye she saw something. Something different. Turning her head she saw a dark shape. A floating shadow. She knew it was Death. But in front of it stood a man. Talking to it. Messy black hair and stormy green eyes. He turned to look at her. His eyes narrowed. "You!" She stopped in her tracks. His voice was demanding yet soft. Everyone would listen to that voice. "What's your name?"
"Amy-"
"Amelia"
"-Pond"
"Yes I thought you were." He smiled. Sad. Understanding. He looked through her. To why she was there. "Sweet Amelia I know it's hard but you have to fight the pain. You have to live. It's not your time yet." He leaned in. Kissed her forehead. Her eyes closed. Warmth filled her. Her world brightened.
"Oh Amy, I hear the song of your sadness. You've lost someone I think."
"I'm not sad."
"Then why are you crying?"
