Setting: back stage
Characters: Avi, Gloria
Avi was haunched over the sink, his intense, green eyes drinking in his fine new attire and form..all for the show. He was simply dashing, Gloria couldn't look away.
Even when those eyes fixed on her squirming person" Are you nervous for me?" he asked, threading a tie along his collar. The same tie Gloria picked out just for the show, a tie that caused his sea green hues to spark to life. "A little, I've also never been back stage before, even though I've known you forever. It's just hard to believe my best guy friend is a famous person now" she managed out, pulling her lengthy stems to her chest.
Avi chuckled, a sound that made Gloria want to grab him up and kiss him. "Well, the show starts in a few minutes. You get to see me in action from back stage finally" he responded while straightening out that tie, Gloria had to fight every urge to slink behind him and curl her arms around his midsection just to straighten it.
"Aren't YOU nervous?" she asked, pulling herself up from the couch, closing the gap between them both finally. He whipped around, offering that sexy grin of his in her general direction "Well, yea. I am. You know, I've often described it a bit like having to go in front of a classroom to present a project or paper"
"But, I've found it's more like jumping into a pool of ice water". Gloria felt her brow pull upwards in confusion "Jumping in ice water, Avi?". He nodded, "Yea. It's the anticipation that sucks. But when you go all in, settle inside it, it's not so bad". Gloria started to shake her head at her friend's obscurity, but a stage manager did find themselves inside, peeping things like, "Five minutes. You must go onto the stage"and it created chaos in Avi's dressing room, which whisked Gloria away into the chaos of the main part of the stage.
Five bodies, dress in finery were there, looking as if they were about to take on an army, and Gloria, Gloria was just there to watch. How they didn't flop to the ground with the anticipation confused her. It was eating her just standing there and she was not even singing. Oh,those voices from the outside the safety of the curtain, there had to be hundreds, maybe even thousands. A symphony of glee and excitement directed at the vocalists up front. "Hey!" someone shouted from her sided, a poor woman she had been gripping for god knows how long. She did n't even reply, she just let the poor woman go and fixed her gaze back on the stage.
"CURTAIN UP! " a stage hand screamed. If the place wasn't alive before, it sure was now. The crowd was nearly deafening with their excitement.
Avi's bass was the first to hit the space, shaking the floor with the sheer power of it. She knew the song, " A-ha" for sure. Damn he was low, deep. Her body vibrated, it was nearly too much.
