Salem: Ok everyone this is going to be short because I'm getting in the mind of Tina. Hope you R&R but no flames please (that means you Don. Yah I'm targeting you now.) Thanks everyone!
Tina sat down on the big pile of scrap metal. She winced as her parents roared at each other from across the junk yard over the stupid things in life. A broken car falling off the top of a pile of garbage and nearly hitting her mom, her dad not having enough ferocity to keep out trespassers, the usual arguments. She sighed and looked up. She too had gotten in a sticky situation earlier that morning with nearly all of Elmore Junior High.
She was just trying to be like everyone else, and asked her mother to make her a dress like the other girls wore. She was so excited when white lace was stitched onto the bottom of it she nearly burst from joy. She had slipped it on and ventured into the school. At first she was nervous about how everyone would react to seeing her in a pink dress, but soon calmed when everyone stopped to look at her. Little did she know, they were staring at her out of disgust. Tobias was the first to speak up.
"Freak! What a loser!" he laughed.
Soon the whole corridor was full of laughter and taunting that made Tina's confidence shatter. She wanted to fight and could have easily broken several bones, but she didn't want the other children to see her cry. Instead she trudged out into the playground and sat near the swings. No one liked her even when she tried to be like them. She sniffed and hid her face as tears streamed down her cheeks. When were they going to understand that she had feelings too?
A tap on her back startled her and she jumped a little. Behind her stood several children. All standing in a row. Among them was Gumball, the little cat that had helped her through tough times before.
He smiled. "Why are you upset Tina?" he asked.
Darwin who stood next to him spoke up too. "Yah! It's not like you."
Their concern tugged at Tina's rough heart. "You really care about me?" she asked.
Penny and several other girls nodded. "Of course we do!" she said.
Rachel walked forward and pointed to the lace on Tina's dress. "I like your dress Tina. It's really pretty. And don't listen to my brother. He's just a baby." she sneered.
Carmen nodded in grievance, then examined Tina's dress closer. "Where did you get it? It's A-mazing!" she giggled.
Tina smiled. She actually had friends...true friends. "My mom made it." she replied standing up.
Jamie blinked. "Your mom actually made that Tina? I didn't know she could do that." she said.
Tina nodded.
Penny smiled. "That's awesome!" she turned and whispered something to her friends then turned back around to face Tina. "Do you want to hang out with us after school? We're going to practice our cheer routine."
Tina blinked. She didn't know how to be a cheerleader. "How do you do that?" she asked nervously.
"It's easy! We'll teach you later." Penny said. "Come on guys. We better go to class before we get in trouble.
"Good idea." Gumball said. He looked up at the giant T-Rex. "Are you coming Tina?"
Tina hesitated, then followed her friends.
She leaned back and looked up at the sky. After school Penny and her friends had taught her the main Elmore cheer routine. The memory would stay with her forever. She really owed it all to Gumball. The little blue cat used to be the only one besides Jamie that talked to her, but he passed the word of how she really was. Now the other junior high students were beginning to warm to her and that was what she wanted the most...friends.
Told yah it would be short! I hoped you liked it though. Please read and review, but no flames welcome! Thanks guys!
