"...Watari, please connect the the computer to camera one." Sounds of shuffling and movement are heard on the pitch-black screen. It suddenly lights up, revealing a pitch-black room, with only a figure and the chair he was sitting on highlighted. The person sitting was a young male with long shiny black hair, wearing a white long-sleeve shirt and simple faded blue-grey jeans. He was sitting awkwardly in a crouched position with his knees up to his chest, and hands stirring the contents of a mug sitting on a small coffee table. He looked up at the camera, and set the spoon lazily laying next to the mug, and wrapped his arms around his legs. "Greetings. I..." The figure paused, looked down, and looked back up at the camera. "...am L. Also known as Araldo Coil, Deneuve, and Ryuzaki. You may call me Ryuzaki if you are referring to me informally or casually. No..." The figure looked down again, and then back up. "Please refer to me as Ryuzaki only, please do not refer to me as L."

After a while, he looked at his mug, picked it up by the handle, and began slurping it's contents in an interestingly non-annoying way. When he finished drinking, he carefully set the mug balancing on his knee, and set the spoon back laying on it's limp position on the table. "I, will be your host." He paused for less than a second, looked down, and continued. "I will be telling you all a story you likely never heard of before; the story of how a mass murderer known as 'Kira' influenced many different people. Some fought for the 'correct' version of justice society sets before us, and some fought for a darker type of justice they created in their hearts." By now, he had a look of pure interest. "I am L, the one that many claim is the 'worlds greatest detective'. In my time working as a detective, I have solved over three-thousand five-hundred crimes said to be 'unsolvable'. I solved every case I ever tackled, except one. One where I lost my very life. The story I will tell you requires the information given in my last two cases. I'll give you time now to read my accomplishes, so that you may better understand the story. Once you are up to date, I will begin." He looks down, then to the right. "Watari, could you please disconnect camera one and audio one? Thank you." The screen turned pitch-black once more.

After a long while, the screen lit up once more. It showed Ryuzaki looking to the right a little bit, moving his lips, but there was not a single sound. Then, a long wirrrrrr sound erupted from the monitor. "-ello, welcome back. Sorry about that, we have to activate the audio and video of this camera separately. If you didn't see my other cases in the time I gave you, I guess we'll have to move on. Just know your missing out on information vital to the story you're about to see." He said the last part with a bit of a tone, as if annoyed. Ryuzaki cleared his throat. He stood up, put his hands in his pockets, and looked once again directly at the camera. "Our story begins twenty years after the original Kira case was solved, in the year twenty-thirdy. This story will be told in the perspective of seventeen-year-old Emily, the brightest child in Wammy's House." He looked over to the right, where Watari is assumed to be off screen. "Watari, will you please roll tape one?" After a long silence, the screen goes black.
