Beck looked over at Jade and saw her in tears. She was not faking. Something was really upsetting her. He quickly walked over and sat down next to her.
"Jade," he sat softly putting an arm around her, "What's wrong?"
"My dad's right," Jade said.
He felt her forehead.
"Okay you don't have a fever," he said, "But you must be sick because I have NEVER heard you say your dad was right about anything."
Jade wiped a tear away from eye.
"He's right when he says I'm a mean bitch who can't do anything right. I'm going to end up rejected and I'll be in the wrong place and I'll never see anyone I love again and-"
"Jade," Beck said soothingly, "Slow down. What in the world got you so upset."
"THIS," Jade said, "and even when I try to be nice I end up being mean."
"Jade," Beck said, "You're not mean. You have a hard time trusting."
She sniffled.
"I do," Jade said, "and I end up hurting the people I love in the process"
"Listen," he said, "Everyone is okay. You're alright. This is just a tough time in your life. It's going to get better."
"When Beck," Jade said, "When am I going to stop being such a loser? When is the hurt going to go away. It still feels bad."
"I know it does," he said gently finally addressing issues that happened between them and things Jade went through, "But it's alright. We are right and you are not mean. I will help you be the best you that you can be"
"No," she said, "Help me be better then my best. I don't want to be rejected."
"Jade," he said, "That will never happen. I couldn't be without you any more then my body can be without my heart"
