If Only…
A Shules Fan Fiction.
A/N: This is my first Shules fan fiction ever and my first Psych fan fiction too, but after seeing the episode tonight, I HAD to write something! This is just Shawn's thought process during the whole scene at the hospital. Enjoy! Constructive Criticism is welcome.
Disclaimer: If I owned the show, Shules would have happened in that beautiful scene in the hospital. Therefore, I don't own psych or the characters.
Gus was listening intently to him as he gave the tale of the epiphany he just had. Shawn then and there knew what he had to do; he had to tell Jules he loved her. Who knew if she was going to die that day without knowing how he felt? He couldn't take that chance; it was way too risky.
He barged into the room and began to talk to Jules. He told her about how he had very important news that he had to tell her. If only Gus hadn't walked in.
Way to ruin the moment,"buddy" He thought as Gus barged in. He began telling Gus to get out. Didn't he JUST tell him what he was about to do? Then Gus quickly let out that she didn't have the flu. Thoughts then rapidly raced through his head. Do I still have the nerve to tell her? He thought. You know what? I think I do. I can do this. These thoughts were quickly leading him in the direction; he could feel it. Even if he wasn't psychic, he was still a pretty smart guy. He knew when the time was right. He returned to Jules and told her the tale about the cereal and how he was always the one to open the box from the bottom to get the prize faster. He quickly led the story in the direction of their relationship. Jules was beginning to understand the seemingly random story he was telling. He got the chance right in front of him.
If only he had the courage to get past the letter "I..." Shawn was getting frustrated by this point. Why couldn't he just let it out? He knew he loved her. Why was it so hard just to tell her? He knew it was now or never. He got ready for the moment.
If only Lassie hadn't walked in just when he plucked up the courage. He knew then the moment was gone. He strode from the room, completely humiliated. When he looked over at her, however, when Gus was talking to him, he knew she had somewhat understood his message, even though the words were scrambled and not together yet. He knew one day (hopefully in the near future) he could utter those words to her proudly. If only that day was today…
A/N: I was surprised how many times I could fit in "If only" into that random short story. What do you think? I'm sure it's not my best work but I plan on writing more of their fan fictions. Please review!!
