A/N: Neither cats have a name, please don't ask. I came up with this during Communications Applications (Comm. Apple. for short) And thought it would be a great poem. So here it is! Pleas R&R!

The Tabby Warrior

The tabby hunted in the forest that night,

stalking her prey by the full moon light.

The grasses parted and revealed a mouse,

on which, the tabby pounced.

The tabby took one swift bite,

and the mouse's squeaking ended that night.

With her mouse proudly in her teeth,

she came to a bush and slid underneath.

She dropped her kill and devoured it quick,

her favorite meal would make most people sick.

The whole scene, from far away, another cat saw,

and came up to the warrior, his jaw slack with awe.

A bell around his collar rang,

and to her feet the tabby warrior sprang.

"Sorry I disturbed you," The ginger cat said,

who in respect dipped his head.

"If you don't mind me asking, I just wanted to know,

In stead of a house to sleep, where do you go?"

The warriors looked right up at him and mewed with a 'smile,'

"I sleep beneath the stars at night you should try it for a while."

The warrior started leaving, and waived her tail 'good bye,'

The house cat watched her all the way, still wondering why.

Why she would rather sleep outside while he was in his house,

why he at tasteless kitty food and she dinned on a mouse.

The house cat moved under the bush and curled up nice and tight,

his housefolk would have to go without him, only for tonight.

He looked up through the branches at the starry sky,

each little white dot like an unblinking eye.

He had the tabby warrior to thank, for all she had said,

he hopped she wasn't one of the cats, who would rather leave him for dead.
