Summary: Who ever thought that playing go could make people get close?

A/N: English is not my first language; feel free to point out the mistakes I made.

I have to thank the famous pairing generator for this pairing. By the way the keyword was "go".

Please read & review.

Go makes people get close

In Sanada's life only five things were important: family, tradition, kendo, tennis and go.

Yes Sanada has been playing go with his grandfather since he was a child.

He really liked the intense reflection required by the game.

What Horio liked was to brag about his two year of tennis experiment and his ability to play go.

When he met Sanada during a go tournament it was the first time he had to play against such a strong player.

Their game lasted two hours. At the end both players were exhausted. They congratulated each other.

After this tournament they met every time there was a championship. They always ended up playing against each other in the finale. Their matches were always the most interesting. Neither of them wanted to give up. It was rare for Junior High students to play at such a high level.

As it was go, nobody talked about these championships. So when Horio kept bragging about his victories over Sanada nobody believed him; and when Sanada said he was defeated by a boy of 12 years old, nobody believed either.

With time and a lot of practice Sanada managed to defeat his favorite opponent. It has been the longest game in the whole history of go. Four hours of concentration…

The crowd cheered and journalists gathered around them wanting to be the first to interview both go prodigies.

When they were asked about the importance of go in their life they answered that it made them meet strong players and that it is a good way to evacuate their stress.

At the end of the day, when nobody was around Sanada gave Horio a piece of paper with his address and phone number and Horio did just the same.

So well go may be an old-fashioned game but it makes people get close to each other…

Last A/N: I really enjoyed writing this little fiction. I think I'll use the pairing generator more often…
