90 years
"Riku, we're going on a trip this weekend," said 104 year old Daisuke Niwa. Who was in good condition for his age, he was better than most 80 year olds.
"Where are we going?" asked Riku Niwa, Daisuke's wife. She also was in good shape.
"Secret," Daisuke replied with a smile on his face.
The weekend came and it was a beautiful day. Daisuke thought that it would be perfect for the plan.
He woke Riku up bright and early, on this beautiful day. They packed lunches and loaded the car.
"Dai, can't you tell me, where we are going?"
"Nope."
"Can't you give a hint," asked Riku, getting impaitent with her husband.
"90 years."
"That's the hint. I can't figure it out with that."
"I know, that is why I told you," Daisuke said with his usual smile on his face.
The rest of the car ride was silent. The whole time Riku was trying to figure out what the clue ment. She couldn't think of anything and was getting a headache from thinking.
After a couple of hours, they arrived at this port and Riku saw this big beautiful ship.
"Are we getting on that ship?" Riku asked, hoping that it was a yes.
"Yup," Dai said, as he was getting out of the car.
The view on the ship was amazing. The water glistened with light and the island, to the north of them, looked absolutelu wonderful.
"That island, seems familiar," Riku finally said after looking at it and thinking for a couple of minutes.
"It does, does it," Dai said, acting like he was thinking really hard.
"You know, where I've seen it before. You just won't tell me."
"Maybe," was Daisuke's reply, with his usual smile.
The couple finally arrived at the island and the island was astounding. The grass was a nice shade of green, the beach was a light brown, with seashells everywhere, there were also colorful birds sitting in the tall lush trees. The place was just amazing.
"Where are we?" Riku asked.
"If you haven't figured it out yet, then you're going to have to wait until tonight."
With that said, Dai started to walk to the restaurant because it was supper time and he was getting hungry. They ate dinner and walked around that island for a couple of hours.
When the sun was setting, Daisuke took out a piece of cloth, that he had in his pocket. Then put it over Riku's eyes.
Riku was shocked by the sudden darkness, she was scared until she felt Daisuke's hand in her's and that it was a piece of cloth over her eyes.
"What are you doing?"
"Taking you to your surprise, since you haven't figured it out yet."
Dai then took Riku and started walking towards the beach, to a certain spot he remembers clearly in his mind. He sat Riku down and looked up at the sky.
"Perfect, it's starting," Dai said to himself.
"What is starting?" Riku asked.
"That," Dai said as he removed the cloth off Riku's eyes.
Riku looked up and saw a meteor shower. Now she remembered, where shw was. She was on the same island that her class went to when she was 14 years old.
"Do you remember, now?" Dai asked.
"Yes."
"Did you know that this is the exact spot we sat at 90 years ago. When I told that I liked you better than your sister."
"Yes," was all Riku could say because she was awe struck by the beauty and magnificance of the metoer shower.
"Riku, I love you."
Riku looked over at Daisuke. She could see the love in his eyes, the same love she 90 years ago. So she said, "I love you, too."
