"What do we do?" Came Couslon's voice over the radio. Nick Fury lowered his radio and starred off into the desert, a cold look on his face.
"Director? Are you still there?"
Nick jolted out of his starring and brought the radio back up.
"Yes, I'm still here. Why wouldn't I be?"
"Well, sir," panted Maria Hill over her radio as she leaned against the jeep, "you didn't answer when Couslon asked you a question."
Nick's faced hardened into a glare.
"I'm still here."
Couslon starred at the ruined S.H.I.E.L.D. base with a neutral face.
"Why didn't you answer my question then?"
Nick's face morphed into confusion. "I-I really don't know. I just felt like I shouldn't. Like I should put the radio down and stare into the distance."
"Sir, I could be a side effect of being around the tesseract. We don't know fully what it's capable of."
Nick Fury nodded in agreement with Hill.
"That's probably it. To answer your question, Couslon, we bring in the Avengers."
The radio then dissolved into protests and arguments between Couslon and Hill. Fury wasn't paying attention, however, for he was thinking what the actual cause was. He knew it wasn't the tesseract. He had really put the radio down in preparation for some awesome music. Why he thought there'd awesome music in the middle of the desert, he had no idea. Shaking his head, Fury joined the conversation again.
