Young Love

By jelliclesoul635

A Jellicle couple,

Naïve and young,

Felt deep inside

Unspeakable words on the tips of their tongues.

Diverse and yet compatible,

Attraction obvious to fellow peers,

Longing yet hesitant,

Held restrained by all of their fears.

One a fine and gentle queen,

Quiet, kind, and true,

With fur of gold and ebony,

And desires new.

The other a tom,

Silly but sweet,

With orange stripes,

From the tips of the ears to the toes of his feet.

Seeking the courage

To embrace the truth,

For there was definitely love between them,

And this they both knew.

Caged by reluctance,

Yet both well-aware,

Of the growing chemistry,

That would surface here and there.

Craves hidden

And urges hushed,

From the moment he saw her,

And when she first blushed.

Their hearts beating rapidly,

Pulsing through their veins,

With nerves itching with temptation,

And both of them to blame.

But chances were made to be taken,

So that's just what they did,

They snatched up opportunity,

And went out on a limb.

-*-*-

They never imagined,

A world of bliss,

Or that one even existed,

Until they shared their first kiss…
