He liked to watch people sleep. Call it a hobby. But these particular people added a whole new level of entertainment to the pastime.

Gourry slept sprawled on the floor, the blanket in a tangle around his feet. His face remained just as blissfully unaware as in his waking moments. His chest rose and fell slowly with the inhalation of each roaring breath.

Zelgadis, also on the floor, slept curled in a ball, his defensive nature reflected even in slumber. His already unkempt hair was further tussled by the fact that he slept fitfully. He snored too, very softly, but he'd never admit it.

Lina, however, firmly believed she did not snore, even though she was almost as loud as Gourry. Her ginger hair fell around her shoulders, and drool slithered down her chin. Her arms and legs were splayed across the bed at all angles, forcing Amelia to contort her body into impossible positions just to stay on the mattress.

You would think Amelia would be the only silent sleeper of the group. But this was not the case. She talked in her sleep, mumbled incoherent things depending upon her dreams. Tonight it had something to do with peach cobbler and Border Collies.

Xellos chuckled softly to himself, perched on the windowsill. His violet eyes watched the party with what was almost longing. He turned his gaze upon the full moon glowing silver above the inn. Some nights he truly wished that monsters could sleep.
