Cho's Lucky Day
"What's up between you and Jane boss?" he asked her once the door to her office closed. Truthfully, he didn't really care. He just wanted to win the office pool. This was his week to win it and there was close to $500 in it.
His suspicions were confirmed when a blush crept up her neck and inflamed his boss' cheeks. "Nothing…why?" came her hasty reply. He noticed how she began to stir her coffee at a slightly faster pace. Her movements became less sure and she was much tenser around him. Oh yeah she was definitely giving herself away.
"Okay," he said and left her office. He walked back to the bullpen and sat down at his desk. He worked for about half an hour before deciding that he needed a second opinion. Namely, to opinion of the man that was currently dozing on the couch.
"Jane," he called knowing he was not really asleep.
"Yeah Cho?" the answer came. Jane didn't move.
"What's up with you and boss?" the question from earlier said again.
"Hmm…I will help you Cho. I know the only reason you really want to know is so that you can win the office pool and take your girlfriend out for a nice night. My man Cho, you just watch," and Jane got up off his couch. Jane walked towards Lisbon's office, but stopped midway.
Jane came back and stuck his head around the corner of the opening to the bullpen. "5 minutes if you want to win the pool," Jane said with a wink. Van Pelt and Rigsby's eyes grew to the size of dinner plates.
"Finally," Van Pelt breathed.
"Damn," Rigsby said a little too loudly.
True to what Jane had said Cho walked to Lisbon's office 5 minutes after Jane had gone. As softly as he could Cho opened the door to the office. He saw them standing there with Jane facing the door. She was gripping Jane's shirt in a tight fist and her head was resting against his chest.
At first Cho gave Jane his version of a concerned look. Jane only smiled and shook his head in a reassurance to the agent. Cho left the pair in the same manner in which he had come, silently.
"So?" Rigsby asked when Cho finally got back to the bullpen. Unwilling to answer he sat at his desk and continued with his work. After a few minutes of constant pestering Cho said, "You will find out in a few minutes."
Jane came out of Lisbon's office looking as immaculate as ever. He walked over to Rigsby's desk and leaned against it.
"Take out your CBI handbook. Look at Rule 121 section B part A," Jane told him. Rigsby looked at him quizzically for a minute before complying.
"Jane, this says that no two agents can date," Rigsby read confused.
"Yes, but my dear Rigsby, I am not an agent," Jane said as he made his way back to his couch. Rigsby sat there dumbfounded. The man had found a loophole.
"Damn," Rigsby finally managed to say.
Cho heard Jane chuckle from his position on the couch. He glanced over at Van Pelt who looked to be a tad too happy to be in the middle of a murder investigation. He noticed Rigsby get up and head towards her. Cho shook his head. The last thing he needed was to have two office romances happening at the same time.
He heard Lisbon's office door open and the angry click of her heels came flooding into the bullpen. "JANE!" she yelled from across the bullpen. He watched as Jane opened his eyes, but didn't move.
Jane grinned at her and said, "Meh, he deserved it."
"That is not the point Jane," she said obviously frustrated. Some things never change. Cho thought hiding his smile behind his computer screen.
