"That's enough training for today I think." Tenten panted, clutching her knees as her legs wobbled alarmingly beneath her.

"If that is so, I think I will walk home on my hands! Just to prove I can do it!"

"Lee, that's preposterous." Neji sighed as the green clad shinobi did a lap around the training field to vent some of his excitement.

"I will shove you Neji, my eternal revile! Now that my original idea has been challenged, I think I will hop home on one hand!"

Tenten groaned as the hyper active twelve year old turned himself up side down so he was on his hands, lifting one hand off the dirt.

"Lee that's not a – And his off again. Not listening to a word I say." Tenten groaned as Lee began to hop away, vanishing down the dirt road.

"Lee is Lee." Neji sighed simply, climbing to his feet.

"Wow Neji. Do you realize that you just said six words in two minutes? That's a new record for you!" Tenten grinned. Neji rolled his

"We better go."

"That's nine words! You're on a roll!" Tenten praised, laughing when Neji didn't reply.

"Oh don't be such a spoil sport! Laugh, have some fun once in a while!" Tenten pleaded childishly, grabbing Neji's arm and spinning him in a circle.

"I enjoy myself." Neji said defensively, but not even attempting to break Tenten's grasp on his arm.

"Oh, really? Tell me one thing in the last five months you've done that you enjoyed." Tenten suggested playfully, tugging the stoic Hyuuga along as he reluctantly followed her down the path to Konoha.

It was silent for a second, then "let me think."

"Hack! I knew it! You're way too strict on yourself!" Tenten accused, grabbing Neji's hand to drag him along, worried that she might stretch his shirt.

"I am not." Neji argued.

"Hmm." Tenten was a bit preoccupied to answer, as it had just occurred to her this was the first time she had done anything remotely reminiscent to holding a boys hand.

She had never realized Neji's hands could be this soft or warm, she had never really thought about it.

"Your hand's sweating."

"Is it?" Tenten asked in surprise, letting go of Neji's to examine it. Sure enough the sheen of sweat glimmered in the moonlight.

"So it is." She agreed, wiping it on her shirt.

As soon as it was dry Neji took it again, much to her surprise. And she was even more surprised to find she liked it.

"Tenten? That question?" Neji prompted as they walked.

"What about it?" She asked turning back to Neji, giving as start as she saw his face inches from hers.

"I can answer."

"Oh?"

The second the word left her Neji's arm wrapped around her waist and he bent his head closer, and the Hyuuga gave a very rare smile.

Before Tenten could fully understand what was happening Neji's lips met hers and her heart beat seemed to cease before starting again at twice its normal rhythm.

Neji pulled away leaving Tenten wide eyes and breathless.

He smirked.

"I enjoyed that."
