Despite the gravestone having been worn down through the years, it was still quite nice. In fact the entire graveyard was pleasant. Mei Chan found it very peaceful as she walked through the rows of headstones, each one surrounded by carefully manicured grass, many with flowers laid before them.

In her homeland, it was very important to pay respect to the dead. There were great cemeteries in Xing, carefully designed to show the love and respect of those who'd lost their loved ones. The cemeteries here paled in comparison.

"Ah, there you two are!" the sweet voice of her beloved Alphonse echoed as the suit of armor ran up to her and Xiao Mei. Both smiled in adoration as he came to a halt.

"Alphonse-sama! You came to find us?"

"I was worried when Brother told me you'd gone off on your own," the boy admitted. "Resembool is a big place and I didn't want you to get lost or anything."

The young princess and her pet panda swooned at his words. He truly did love them, not like that horrid bean-boy.

"But why are you in a cemetery?" Alphonse cocked his metal head to the side.

"I was just looking around," she smiled softly. "In my country, it is expected that we pay respect to the dead, even if we'd never met them while they were living. I saw tombstones with the names of Rockbell on them. Are they related to Miss. Winry?"

Al nodded. "They're her parents. They were doctors killed during the war of Ishbal."

"How horrible!"

"My mom's grave is over here…" Al said softly. "I haven't been here in a while, I guess I should say hi to her."

"You're mother?" Mei followed the direction of Alphonse's glance and saw a stone with the name Elric on it. "May I pay my respects to her?"

"Of course! She'd like to meet you Mei."

"I'm glad," the princess whispered. She hesitantly took hold of Al's leather hand. "Introduce me?"

"Alright."
