Hey, hey, hey- first upload! This is just a silly little Caleo one-shot I wrote based on a tumblr prompt, hope you enjoy it! (having said that it''s barely Caleo, more of a Percy/Leo bromance, but I had fun writing it!)
Disclaimer: I am not Rick Riordan, and and much as I wish these babies were mine I do not own these characters!
Now We're Even
A HoO one-shot by Helen Albrecht
It was almost five in the morning, and the residents of Camp Half-Blood were gradually peeling off to their cabins after one of the longest and heaviest victory parties in the camp's history. Soon all that remained were the seven of the prophecy, Nico, Rachel and Calypso.
After a while Calypso got up to leave- Rachel had offered to let her stay with her in her cave. Rachel waved a cheery goodnight to the others, and Calypso bent down and planted a quick kiss on the top of Leo's head before smiling and following her to the hill. Leo grinned after her, his feet tapping excitedly on the step. If he was a dog, his tail would've been wagging.
Percy smiled at him knowingly. "So- I'm guessing things are pretty good between you guys?"
Leo smiled back at him. "You know it- we're going slow at the moment, she's not used to being off the island yet, but she's dealing with it pretty well."
Suddenly, his smile turned a little sad. "It's just a shame really…"
Percy frowned. "What is?"
Leo looked at him and shrugged. "You know, you're a really nice guy, Percy- and I have nothing against you as a person. You're my friend, you've saved us all loads of times, and I hope we can stay friends. So I'm sorry."
Percy looked even more confused. "Sorry? For wh-"
He didn't get time to finish as Leo's fist slammed into his cheek with blinding force, knocking him aside. Everyone else leapt up from their seats as he flopped to the ground, groaning.
"Ow! Son of a-" Leo yelled, shaking out his fist. "Dude, do you have cheekbones of steel or something?!"
"Leo, what in Hades are you doing?!" Annabeth yelled, as she and Nico ran to Percy's side and helped him sit up.
Leo looked genuinely remorseful- although that might have just been because of his skinned knuckles. "Sorry- I know you're a nice guy, Percy, but you did hurt Calypso. It's my duty as a grudge-holding boyfriend to hit you at least once."
He knelt down beside Percy and held out his good fist. "So, we good?"
Percy just stared at him over his swollen cheek for a moment, one hand clutched to his face.
Then he shrugged. "Yeah, man, we're good."
Leo grinned and they bumped fists. "The things we do for love, eh?"
The End
Hope it wasn't a complete disaster! Thanks for reading, guys! :D
