EDIT: I really kind of hate this story, for a few reasons:

-It's way too short.

-I suck at cursing in stories, and will probably avoid it in the future.

-There's no description at all, and I feel like I haven't done this scene justice.

To sum up: don't bother reading this. I would take it down, but then I'd probably forget to rewrite it. And I definitely want to rewrite it (and since there are no reviews or anything, I don't feel bad about obliterating this and starting over). It's gonna happen.

T for language, and themes.

He's lying down. Face up. He always liked that. People expect you to sit or stand; lying down is, well, ironic.

"Bro."

After all this time, he still had that stupid katana. I told him; I told him it was stupid.

And now, when it should have actually helped, it... didn't.

"Bro, come on."

I can't look at his face. His glasses are gone. They're never gone.

"Get up, man."

He somehow kept that stupid hat on.

"Bro, don't fuck with me, man."

I wish I could put something over his chest, to cover up the- Oh, God.

"Bro."

There's so much blood.

"Bro, you can't- you can't-"

Jack, you bastard. I'll kill you.

"Come on, man."

I'll fucking kill you.

"Bro, I- I can't do this."

He can't be gone. He's never gone.

"I need you."

He's holding up one arm. Oh my God; he's alive. "Bro!"

He grabs my head. Pulls it to his chest.

Bro was always too cool for regular hugs.

He chokes out something, but I can't hear him. The blood is right there, in front of me.

"Please, Bro, just don't die."

Now he's- it almost looks like he-

"...Bro."

Spinning, spinning, time goes by

These knights and princes, unafraid to die

But with one wing, they cannot fly

As brothers fall and time goes by

AN: This is just a short Davesprite piece I wrote a few months ago. For some reason, I didn't consider posting it until now; I'm not thrilled with the way it turned out, so I might rewrite it in the future. I'll post a companion chapter with Bro's final thoughts, too; I have it around here somewhere.

The song is my lyrics for "Clockwork Melody", from Homestuck Volume 5. It should match up with the music pretty well, except for the last few notes.

The title comes from the first Pesterlog conversation; when Dave says that it 'sounds boring', it's the first time Sburb is ever mentioned.
