"Denmark how could you!?" Finland shrieked out, holding Iceland in his arms.
They were in a middle of a World meeting, when they heard Iceland scream out. Of course Norway was the first to run out of the room to see what happened to his little brother.
And what he saw shocked him to the core.
Denmark was standing over Iceland, his battle axe was in his right hand, as drops of blood splattered on the ground. Iceland was on the ground as a huge wound came from his shoulder to his hip. If one looked at first glance, they would've thought the same thing Norway was thinking.
Denmark tried to kill Iceland.
Norway stood there, frozen, until realization hit for him. Without any warning, he ran up to Denmark and straight up punch his face.
Denmark did not say anything at all as he started to walk away. "Come back here you son of a bitch!" Norway yelled at him, having Sweden restrain him as he watched the Dane walk away. "Why!?" He yelled, his calm demeanor was gone now, as they brought Iceland inside to be taken care of his wound.
What simply possessed Denmark to do such a thing? Denmark looked back for a split second and answered, his voice no longer held the mirth it use to hold.
"Because, he was getting on my nerves." He answered blandly before returning to walk away. No one had the courage to stop him as Denmark's axe was dragged along, the axe making a cut into the earth like a hoe would do.
"Matthias!" Norway shouted, making Denmark stop once more. Ever since the end of the Kalmar Union, Norway hasn't called Denmark by his human name.
"I fucking hate you!" He yelled as Denmark gritted his teeth. He knew those words would be yelled from Norway. The person he wanted to love the most. Now the dreams of Norway smiling around him were crushed.
"I know," Denmark responded as he walked. "I know all too well." Sweden looked at the Danish man's retreating figure and noticed that his trench coat was ripped open on his left shoulder.
Without letting go of the raging Norwegian, Sweden looked around. If Denmark had a wound, then a weapon of some sort had to be lying around he somewhere right?
Sweden realized there was no weapon at all he could see and looked back at Denmark, who was now about to be out of sight.
'Denmark…' He thought, as he let go of Norway, who fell to his knees. 'Just what are you planning….?'
Denmark stopped walking when he was surrounded by dense forests. The thick canopy was shielding him from the pouring rain that started as he walked away from the World meeting hall.
Denmark wasn't even surprised when he heard clapping.
"You certainly surprised me today Matthias!" A sickly sweet voice rang out as a figure clad in robe walked out into the clearing Denmark was standing at, a rapier at its side.
Denmark didn't do anything as the figure circled around him like a vulture. "Imagine! Trying to kill your family to save them! What a plot twist!" It spoke, mocking Denmark which each second.
Denmark gritted his teeth. The ache in his heart was too much for him to bear at the moment. "Just get it fucking on already!" He barked as the figure jumped back, wagging his finger at him to provoke him.
"Ah~ Ah~ Ah~!" It cooed bitterly. "Don't bark or else I'll have to add another nation to my 'list'." It threatened, as Denmark's eyes widened. "Don't you fucking dare! Just give me what I have to do so I can get over this already!" He commanded it.
"Fair enough~" It spoke as it stood in front of Denmark. If you could see underneath it's hood, you can see a demented, twisted smile that stretched from ear to ear.
"Rule number one. Absolutely no one can save you. This is your fault, so it's your burden to bear." The figure explained, it's wording hit Denmark with more and more guilt from what he did earlier. "I know that." Denmark hissed.
"Rule number two. If anyone finds out before the time your 'brother' wakes up…." The figure tilted his head and held up it's fingers like a gun and placed it on its temple. "Consider them on my kill list. That includes nations and humans alike. Only your boss and another nation know about it. Don't worry, I won't kill your boss. I'm not THAT mean." It blabbed on as Denmark nodded. No one had to know about this. Like it said before, this was his damn fault, so it should only be him to bear the consequences. The only one who knew was now comatose.
"Rule number three~" To provoke him even further, it held up three fingers and waved it in his face. "You have to fight me for however long I want. If I want only two battles, you WILL give me two battles. If I want to battle you every single night, you WILL battle me every single night." Denmark gripped his axe tighter, already knowing he was damned. "I know," He repeated to the figure.
"And rule number four…." It spoke, as if it was enjoying this to the maximum. It swiftly pulled out its rapier, and Denmark still had his bloody axe where he immediately swung to deflect the blow the rapier would've done to him. "Remember. I have the power to kill nations. I can kill your friends, and I most certainly kill you. Remember you have a chance of dying every time." It spoke. "To me, you are just a regular human."
Denmark swung his axe again as the figure jumped once more and started to laugh. "I know we're going to have a GREAT time to Matthias!" It mocked. "See you tomorrow."
And with that, it sneaked away as the rain started from drizzling to downright pouring. Within a matter of seconds, Denmark's hair flattened against his forehead, covering his eyes. His tears he had to hold back were mixed with the rain as he fell to his knees.
"Iceland…Norway….everyone…." He murmured, trying his best not to sound like he was crying, but who was he kidding? "I'm sorry….I'm sorry…." He apologized over and over. He knew no one would hear them, but he said them anyway.
"…But this is for the best…." He finished, as he sat there and allowed the rain to make him feel numb. Thanks to what he did in front of everyone, he was now alone. It was perfect. No one to help him, no one worrying over him.
But most of all…
No one could see what a pitiful person he became.
