Run and the Hunger Games does NOT BELONG TO ME!!

Run (c) Snow Patrol and Interscope/Fiction Records

Hunger Games (c) Suzanne Collins

I'll sing it one last time for you
Then we really have to go
You've been the only thing that's right
In all I've done
"We can run away. District 12 doesn't need us. We could go to District 8. Disguise ourselves with the Capitol's dyes. Be in the rebellion..." Gale's voice trailed off as he stared at Katniss's eyes, which were avoiding his.
And I can barely look at you
But every single time I do
I know we'll make it anywhere
Away from here
"Even just you can go. Forget about the 74th Games. Forget about Peeta."
Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear
He stares straight into her eyes, and she tries hard to show no emotion. A tear breaks through and Gale realizes that he should have never mentioned the baker's son.
Louder louder
And we'll run for our lives
I can hardly speak I understand
Why you can't raise your voice to say
Katniss realizes that if emotional pain caused by her created scars on people's bodies; Peeta's would be covered. No matter how hard she tries, she'll be hurting someone.
To think I might not see those eyes
Makes it so hard not to cry
And as we say our long goodbye
I nearly do
Gale steps up to Katniss and kisses her lightly, their lips barely touching. They hold on for a few moments and Gale breaks the kiss, and the silence. "You can survive out there. I know you can."
Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear
Katniss finally speaks. "Prim...mom...", she says, hoarsely.

Gale hushes her down before she can remember Peeta.

The boy that truly deserves more.
Louder louder
And we'll run for our lives
I can hardly speak I understand
Why you can't raise your voice to say
"Go quickly."

Gale pulls out a leather sack, stocked with matches, food, water, and clothing and shoves it in into her arms.
Slower slower
We don't have time for that
All I want is to find an easier way
To get out of our little heads
Katniss tries to protest. She's a wreck. But Gale just kisses her softly and pushes her off into the woods.

"Take care."

And she runs.
Have heart my dear
We're bound to be afraid
Even if it's just for a few days
Making up for all this mess
Gale sighs. He wonders how he will explain this to everybody. Of course, he can run away too.
