Written for HedwigBlack's Decisions, Decisions Competition. I chose PadmaLucy as my pairing and used the prompts: Poison and Wine by Civil Wars; Whisper & "Do you mean it?"
Pretty Little Lucy
The words are whispered so softly she barely heard it.
"I love you. I will always love you."
"I love you, too."
She looks at her, brown eyes staring into blue. And then a smile forms on her lips.
She's so young – barely eighteen – but she is so beautiful.
Her pretty little Hufflepuff.
"Do you mean it?" She can hear the doubt in her tone, the little voice inside her head wanting to make sure this is real.
"Of course." She kisses her as if to make her point. "My pretty, little Lucy."
She smiles, cheeks turning pink. She doesn't like the affection she is given sometimes. It embarrasses her, makes her blush. "Padma…."
"Don't. I love you. I really do." She runs a finger down her young cheek as if to prove her point. "You are so beautiful."
Her cheeks go even redder and she giggles. A childish, girlie giggle that reflects her age.
"Me too."
Though, she isn't sure. She has never told her mother or her father before. She's never uttered her name – only when she sleeps, and they think she is a school friend. Her parents are oblivious.
If they found out….
Her lips brush the girl's temple, and then her ear, her nose; going lower and lower until they meet her lips. The kiss is deep, passionate, loving. Like a song wanting to be sung.
And then she breaks apart, staring into the blue eyes of the young woman, smiling, wanting.
"I love you," she whispers again, and like before, the girl blushes.
"Me too," she repeats. "I love you, too."
And there is nothing quite like it.
Padma was not supposed to sound creepy. That was not my intention. I pretty much happily read and ship Padma with anyone and everyone. Chuck her with the Giant Squid and I'll probably like it.
I hope you enjoyed.
