Notebook Poems

Poems that I write in between notes and lectures – mostly in World Geography or Algebra

Screams

Pushed down

Smothered down

The water pulls me in

The waters push me down

I can't breathe

I can't scream

I can't cry

But the surrounding waters cry for me

Silence

Eyes are closed

The train tracks whistle in the distance

Arguments fade away with their hatred

The darkness clings to your figure

Behind your eyelids you see skulls

You hear the murmur of thoughts

You feel the love, anger, and envy they feel

All as the silence surrounds you

Busy Bee

I hear my teachers' lectures,

Not really

I hear my friends' secrets,

Not really

I hear the plans for the future,

Not really

I hear my parents struggle,

Not really

Wrapped up in solutions, arguments, school work, and relationships

I never hear you

You become silent,

As I became busy

As he stole me away

I became a pacing soul

Never taking the time

Cries

Children cry

And they're taken care of

Babies cry

And their parents rush for them

A cry for help

Goes unanswered

No one sees

No one hears

No one speaks

I notice but does anyone care?

I speak but everyone ignores my voice

I stand here but no one speaks to me

Another cry goes unanswered

Pity Party

Darkness enfolds

Light fades away

Our shadows turn mocking

The Angels weap of burdens

Demons bleed of their victims' pain

No one can see

Fore we are blind

No one can speak

Fore we are drowned in tears

No one can hear

For the pain is too much to bear

Our throats closed up and fill with tears

The legs that we depend on collapse

Before were were balanced by flaws and perfections but now all are is failure

Too much to take

We drown ourselves in darkness

Smothering Out

Always guilty

Always shamed

I smother it out

Exclude me

Include me, not

My heart is cold

I am untouched

I smother it out

Always guilty

Always ashamed

The beauty of the darkness melts my heart

The sadness of all the innocence lost melts my heart

So I smother everything else out

Speak

Holding on tight

My eyes burn

Can't you hear?

I want to say something

Anything

Can't you hear?

I'm talking to you

But not speaking

I'm telling you

But you act like you can't hear

Why speak?

When no one listens

In Wonderland

Follow the rabbit hole, Alice

Go down and deep into Wonderland, Alice

Come with us, Alice

Be mad like us, Alice

Have tea and unbirthdays, Alice

Play crochet and dine with our queen, Alice

We have everything you need, Alice

In Wonderland

Untitled

Never alone

Because he'll always be here

He brings hate and turmoil with him everything

He doesn't love me

But wants to see pain

Souls, he trades

Hearts, he eats

Desires, he kills

Loyalty, he breaks

Along with him he took everything

I was once good

Helping others, good – natured and polite

Now I'm his

I belong to him

And he is Adrian

Blessings

Prayers are said

Offerings are served

Faith is lost

Then found again

Drowsiness comes

Not enough time

Prayers are cut short in the head, but not the heart

Faith in something else

Love for not only yourself

Happiness glows off the skin

All are such great blessings

Laughter in the Darkness

The sun turns on its side

It shines down on every norm

As the sun speaks its golden language

The moon rises into a dark night sky

It blesses all of the creatures of the night

They all sing, dance, and rejoice of the dark

But when the sun shines down on them…

It all becomes silent

The laughter dies down

They sleep and rest so the golden sun doesn't t burn them

As the sun shines down on the norm
