Chapter 1: The Invitation

Ryoma arrived home from tennis practice just in time to see his old man, Nanjiro, a famous professional tennis player who was supposed to be the number 1 tennis player in the world but retired early, waving a letter to him.

"Oi, Seishounen~ My boy is growing, could this be a love letter from a certain someone? Hmm?~" Nanjiro grinned, waving the letter right at Ryoma's face looking all smug and happy while successfully annoying his son.

"Baka oyaji! I don't know what you're talking about." Ryoma stormed upstairs to his room without looking at the letter. "Damn brat, doesn't even respect his own father." Nanjiro sniffed muttering other incoherent phrases about youth and mood swings and other such profanities while dragging his feet to the kitchen to get something to drink. "You know anata, Ryoma will respect you if only you stop acting childish to annoy him." Rinko chuckled, bemused at her husband's antics while preparing the meal for the night.

"But Rinko-chan~"

"You might as well give that letter to Ryoma. It might be something important."

Nanjiro pouted but followed his wife's order anyway. Going up to his son's room, he continued muttering phrases how he was such a good father to the boy. Reaching his son's room, he knocked on the door.

"Oii, gakii!"

No answer.

He knocked again. This time, louder and shouted even louder.

"OII! SEISHOUNEN!"

After several seconds, still no answer. Thinking he was just being ignored, Nanjiro entered his son's room.

But Ryoma was not there. "Hmmn? Where could that brat be? " He muttered scratching his head. "I'm here baka oyaji," Ryoma appeared drying his hair. His feline eyes looked at his father coolly. Nanjiro tossed the letter to Ryoma.

Ryoma caught it with his left hand easily. He opened the envelope and read the letter.

Echizen Ryoma-kun,

Congratulations to you my boy! I'm very happy that your team won the Kantou Tournament. Since you have just finished the tournament, I would like to invite your team to come here to America to a special party for your team's victory to take place 2 days upon the arrival of this letter. Tickets are of no problem, you can invite anyone you like. I am looking forward for your arrival.

From,

Mr. Ichibana
