Okay peeps, I know I'm behind on my stories… but with my schedule, lets face it, it's going to take me weeks to make an update on even one, especially since my babysitting hours increased so that I have little to no free time (except for Sundays- which are barely long enough these days as well).

Before my free-time started to become limited, I made an offer to write a special one-shot for my friend and sister-figure, Tracker78, who's been going through a hard time herself. So, before I become over-stressed with my updates (much less submit myself into an asylum), I plan on fulfilling her request.

Also, this is an AU story- one where Fangs/Fangface are married to someone else, and have a daughter, Kassidy/Saige. It relates to a story she's working on, though I won't give away the whole plot. You can also look up a picture of them on my DeviantArt profile (She-Wolf91) to see what they look like.

And as the disclaimers show, I don't own the original Fangface characters (Ruby-Spears™), nor do I own the new OC created by Tracker78.

I hope you enjoy!

"C'mon, Dad, pleeeaaase can I go?" Kassidy begged her father one day. "I promise I'll be home at midnight!"

"For the umpteenth time, Kass, I said no." Fangs answered as he was cooking dinner. It was just him and his daughter home that evening, as his wife was working late. "You're still too young to be going to rock-concerts- especially until midnight!"

The young 16-year-old girl groaned. "C'mon, Dad, I'm not a little girl anymore! And besides, Jessie and Fiona are going!"

"Nice try- Jessie's still grounded, and Fiona went with her parents to the lakeside cabin for the weekend, remember?"

"What if I had cousin Sherman take me?"

Fangs stifled a laugh- Sherman Jr./Fangpuss was his younger cousin, at least 4 years older than his daughter. "After the stunt he pulled at his college? I don't think so,"

"Alright, what about cousin Sammy?"

"She… or 'Claw'… went to visit your aunt Storm in Colorado,"

Kassidy moaned irritably, face-palming. "What if I just went for a couple hours… as Saige?"

Fangs scoffed. "No way, I don't trust Saige on her own,"

"Why not?!"

"Because she takes after your 'other' father!" Suddenly Fangs' fist jerked up and punched himself in the jaw! "OW! …Dang it, Fangface…"

Kassidy had to hold in a chuckle- ever since her father found out he was a werewolf, the term 'dueling personality' took on a new comedic meaning. "Well… what does HE think of me going to the concert?"

"*grr* I don't see why-" Fangface began to say through Fangs, until the lanky young man gave himself a slap to the face and stated, "Absolutely not! There are too many roughneck creeps that go to that concert- even if you had Saige take over, something could happen! Puggsy told me about these cultists who have been going to concerts and other crowded events and drugging people with syringes, dragging them off to do God knows what!"

Kassidy crossed her arms. "So you're saying I can't handle myself, is that it?"

"I'm saying you shouldn't go until you're ready for dangerous situations…"

"Well, maybe I'd be ready if you would take me with you on a couple cases! Jessie was allowed to go with her parents last time!"

"No, Jessie snuck off to go with her parents- which is how she became grounded. …And plus, you have to study for that test of yours- your teacher says that if your Science grade doesn't get above a D-, you're taking summer school. We'll talk about it later," Fangs then resumed preparing dinner, ending the discussion.

Kassidy sighed, going up to her room. He never lets me go anywhere… she thought, bitterly.

'That's typical of dads. Next time you should ask him when he's a werewolf, he's sure to say yes!' Saige replied in her mind.

We tried that when we asked him if we could go to that party two weeks ago- he just drove up in human-form and made us come home, remember?

'Oh, yeah… man that was kind of embarrassing.'

"Kind of?" It was totally humiliating! The other kids are still making fun of me!

'…Hey, it's better than Jessie's case. Her dad hauled her out over his shoulder! …Why don't we call her up? She might have an idea on how to make our dad give in,'

Kassidy took her werewolf-half's advice, taking out her cell-phone as she sat on her bed, calling up her best friend. "Hey, Jess, any luck getting into the concert?" she asked.

"Nah, my pop said I still have two weeks left on my groundagement." Jessie replied. "I'm lucky he didn't confiscate my phone,"

"Did you get your laptop back, at least?"

"No… the only time I'm allowed to be on it is for homework, and he actually monitors me while I use it! (…you accidentally stumble upon a hentai vid ONE TIME, and you're marked for life)… I thought about sneaking out, but he has the other officers patrolling the block- and he made sure they mesmorized my face!"

"Wow, is he that strict on your punishment to have cops on patrol?"

"Basically… though he said the real reason is because they're keeping their eyes out for those creeps who've been drugging kids at concerts and stuff- another reason why I'm not allowed to go,"

"My dad said the same thing…"

"(Jess, are you on the phone?!)" someone called in the background.

"Yeah, Dad, it's Kass!" Jessie called back.

"(Well, tell her you have to call her back, and finish the dishes!)"

Jessie sighed. "Alright, alright, I'm getting to it! …Sorry, Kass, I have to go- Dad's been loading me up with chores until my punishment is expired,"

"Okay, I'll see you around," Kassidy replied, before hanging up.

'Guess Dad has a reason to be paranoid this time, if the cops are patrolling the neighborhood,' Saige said in her mind.

Yeah… though now I want to go to that concert just to find out who's behind it- maybe catching those goons would help Dad see I'm capable of handling myself! Kassidy thought in response.

'Well with the cops patrolling and as paranoid as Dad can get, chances are we wouldn't get far in our investigation… in fact, I wonder why Dad and his gang aren't looking into it?'

I don't know… but once they do, I'm going to help- whether he wants me to or not!

'Kass… you're not thinking about pulling a Jessie, are you?'

Yes. Yes I am!

'Oh good- count me in!'

Meanwhile, Fangs was having a mental conversation himself as well- with himself. 'You know you'll have to let her go sooner or later, Fangs. You don't want to be one of those dads who just try to keep their daughters locked away from the world forever, do ya?' Fangface was saying to him. 'After all, we were in that kind of situation ourselves…'

We were only in that kind of situation because, before we teamed up with our friends, YOU kept causing trouble! Fangs answered. In fact, we STILL got in trouble- namely with Puggsy's mom, about all the times you ate him!

'Yeah, but this isn't about us anymore- it's about our daughter, and the more we treat her like a little kid, the more rowdy she's gonna get! *grr* Besides, she at least deserves a chance to learn some responsibility.'

By letting her go to a concert where she could be drugged and kidnapped?!

'No… by letting her come with us on cases! You never know, Saige might be able to help us out- after all, she does take after me, *grr* takes after me.'

I don't know, Fangface… what if our next case is too dangerous? You know how Stephanie gets when it's just us going out there—if our daughter comes along, she'll have a panic-attack large enough to out-match mine!

Fangface thought about this a moment. Stephanie was a woman he and Fangs had met when they were teenagers, and started joining them on cases. However, when the cases proved to be too dangerous, she eventually backed out- she wanted Fangface to do the same, but understood that the gang always needed him, and decided after their marriage she would be the stay-at-home mom. Though having a daughter only made her more worried about her husband each time he went out, always expecting his best friend, who also became a police officer, to walk up on her doorstep telling her that something horrible had happened to him.

'Saige is more careful than we are- otherwise she'd have tried sneaking out by now.' Fangface told Fangs. 'At least give her one chance, see how she handles it,'

Fangs sighed. Alright… but only if the next case isn't too dangerous, he thought in response.

'ALRIGHT! My baby-girl is going to be helping me catch bad guys! Arroooo!'

The lanky young man cringed, gripping his head in agony. Fangface, headache!

'Ooh, ooh, sorry.'

0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0

"Please?"

"No."

"Please?"

"No."

"You know I won't stop saying 'please' until you stop saying 'no'."

"Fine. Ask again."

"PLEASE can I go with you guys on your next ca-"

"Negative."

Jessie groaned. "C'mon, Dad! I know how to handle myself!"

Puggsy rolled his eyes, going back to reading the paper. "I'm sure you do…"

"I heard sarcasm!"

"You heard correctically then. You're not coming with us on any cases, Jess- it's too dangerous, and you're too young,"

Jessie sneered. "Mom said you were my age when you got on your first case!"

He scoffed. "Times were different back then, Jessie. 16 was a more mature age,"

"Oh, and I'M not mature?!"

"Considering you're arguing like a ten-year-old…"

Jessie growled, then noticed her mother walking into the room. "Mom! Can I please help you and Dad out next time you go on a case? He doesn't think I can do it!"

"Of course you can do it- once you learn how to keep out of trouble," her mother replied.

"Ah, leaping ignor- you guys never give me a chance!"

"Because you're not ready to be taking chances… especially since your last stunt got you grounded. Once you prove you can be responsible, you can come with us next time,"

Jessie sighed, groaning a bit as she walked off. "…how can I prove it if you don't trust me?" she muttered to herself.

Puggsy looked over at his wife, who was giving him a look. "NO, Kim. We are NOT letting our daughter get involved- especially after last time!"

"Pugs, you know she'll just keep sneaking out until we give her a chance." Kim replied, sitting down next to her husband.

(a/n: yes, Kim and Pugs are a couple in this story- do not shoot me, it was part of the request!)

"Then she'll be doing chores until she goes to college," Puggsy returned to his newspaper, pausing when he felt Kim's hand on his shoulder.

"Pugs… Lets just give her one chance. She won't get into so much trouble if we're there to give her guidance, at least."

Puggsy sighed heavily. "It's not that easy, Kim… you know what kind of sickos are out there nowadays. I don't want to lose my daughter…"

Kim nodded. "She used to say the same thing about you. I remember staying home with a scared, five-year-old girl who was worried her daddy wouldn't be coming home, wanting to go with him everywhere just to make sure he would be alright."

Puggsy looked at her, holding her hand and thinking. "I don't know," he shook his head. "I don't get why the kids want to always go with us on cases- shouldn't they be worried about who to take to prom and stuff?"

Kim smiled. "They just want to be heroes like their parents," she patted his shoulder, then walked off. "Think about it, alright?"

Puggsy looked back at the paper… though set it down when he noticed his daughter's silhouette passing through the window. He shook his head, standing up to go after his daughter- again. "Of all the dumb luck, she inherits her mother's looks but my stubbornness…" he muttered.

Once dinner was done, Fangs and Kassidy sat at the table in awkward silence. "So… I was thinking… well, Fangface and I were thinking…" Fangs began, his daughter looking up at him. "Maybe it would be alright if you came with us on a case,"

Kassidy dropped her fork, nearly choking on her food. 'Either my hearing's going or something was in our food!' Saige commented.

"R-Really?" Kassidy asked, stunned.

"Only if it's not too dangerous!" Fangs emphasized. "Like… maybe just tracking down a thief at a hotel or something. Start things off easy,"

"Hey, I'll take it!"

Fangs chuckled. "Well, hold on. We gotta see what your mom says first,"

"I say… absolutely not!" called a voice, and they looked over, seeing Stephanie in the kitchen doorway. "Sherman Fangsworth, what are you thinking, dragging our daughter along on a case?!"

"Just a small-time one!" Fangs stammered. "She keeps wanting to come along, so I think it's time she got her chance-"

"It's bad enough I have to worry about you, I shouldn't have to worry about our daughter too!"

"Well, why don't you come with us too, Mom?" Kassidy suggested. "Fiona goes with her parents on cases from time to time, and they're always helping each other out."

Stephanie shook her head. "I-I stopped going on cases a long time ago, sweetie. It's too dangerous! After that encounter with Marlow…" she paused, giving a shudder.

Fangs grimaced a bit. Marlow was a werewolf-hunter who set up an organization, targeting the family of Kassandra Bickerson… well, Kassandra Southerland now, since her marriage to Biff. The gang managed to stop the hunter… but he still had men out there.

"We're not going to investigate werewolf-hunters, Steph. …Heck, Pugs himself won't let me in on those cases unless it was an emergency!" Fangs stated- after his friend became a cop, he'd been keeping his senses strained for any whereabouts on werewolf-hunters and having them busted, just to make sure his friends and family would stay safe. He advised his best friend to keep out of it, unless they needed the werewolf's help if the situation proved too grave… it was a situation like that that caused Steph to stop going on cases, after the werewolf suffered a near-fatal injury. "Actually… he prefers if I didn't get involved at all, and just warns me about them…"

"And I want to be around to help out Dad… at least so he has extra back-up! I think you should come too Mom. We all need your help too," Kassidy stated. "I mean, you're still part of the gang… and I promise I'll be careful and listen to everything you guys say! Werewolf's honor!"

Stephanie looked at her husband and daughter, then unleashed a heavy sigh. "Fine… but if the situation proves too dangerous, we're coming straight home." She said. There was no use arguing- if her paranoid husband was willing to give Kassidy a chance, she might as well too.

The next case came the next morning, suddenly. "It's pretty weird, Fangs. There's this abandoned cabin in the woods, yet every time someone goes near it, some weird entities appear, warning them to stay away." Biff was telling his friend over the phone. "The police in the area went to check out the area, but couldn't get far until something chased them off."

"What kind of something?" Fangs asked.

"From the description, I'd say last time it was a Chimera- you know, that monster from Greek legend, having the head of a goat and a lion, and a snake for a tail. …Weird thing is, there's always a different creature each time. The other day, someone said there was a Minotaur in the area."

"Ooh, ooh, you think the cabin is cursed or something?"

"It's either cursed, or someone's pulling an act just to scare people… at least, that's what Freddy said it might be when I told him about it, but I want to check it out. Hunter's up for it too, and Fiona's already discovered a clue,"

"Alright, I'll be there in an hour," Fangs ended the call, then went and told Stephanie and Kassidy about the case. "What do you guys think? Want to tag along for this one? It could just be some sort of cover-up for a bank-robbery or something,"

"I'm up for it, what do you think, Mom?" Kassidy replied, turning to her mother.

"Well… I guess. But if we'd better not run into any Greek monsters!" Stephanie replied. "And Kassidy, I want you to stay with us at all times!"

Kassidy nodded.

Fangs' phone rang just then, and he smirked at the caller ID. "Hey, Pugs, you get Biff's call?" he answered.

"Yeah- apparently he needs a cop out there that has the guts to handle mythical monsters," Pugs replied on the other line. "I'm heading out there now- Kim's staying home this time, just to make sure Jessie doesn't try to sneak out,"

"Again? Ooh, ooh, why don't you just let them both come along? I'm going to let Kassidy come,"

There was a stunned silence on the other end. "YOU? Captain Cowardice is letting his daughter brave danger?! …Okay, who is this, and what did you do with Fangs?"

Fangs rolled his eyes. "Very funny, Pugs. See you in an hour," he hung up, and the family got into their van and drove off to the lake.

0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0

The group met up at the campsite where Biff, Hunter, and their daughter, Fiona, were staying at. "I'm telling ya, if that girl tries to pull any more stunts, she's going to be grounded for life!" Puggsy said, telling his friends about his daughter's recent sneak-out attempt. "Last night, she tried to hot-wire the car!"

"She's taking after you more and more every day, isn't she?" Hunter joked.

"I wish she could have come, it would've been great teaming up together," Fiona said to Kassidy.

"Yeah, the three of us could definitely bust those crooks!" Kassidy added.

"Alright, girls you're not here to earn some Girl Scout badges, this is a serious situation." Stephanie told them. "You've got to stay focused and be completely aware of your surroundings!"

"Yeah, that means no texting friends or updating your Facebook statuses about the case, no complaining about getting dirty or wanting to go freshen up, and no taking selfies around weird things!" Puggsy added, sternly.

"Pugs, we don't do any of that!" Kassidy scoffed.

"I know- I was talking about your dad," he thumbed over at Fangs, who was trying to take his picture by a Totem pole… until a raccoon popped out of one of its mouths and startled him. (Kassidy face-palmed).

"Fiona, why don't you tell everyone what you found?" Hunter suggested.

Fiona nodded, then took out a plastic bag with a busted test-tube in it, the remains of some sort of liquid smeared on the glass. "I was walking on a path by the cabin when I found this. I figured it was evidence, and the liquid had some weird stench to it- it was pretty strong, and made my eyes blur, so I had to seal it away."

"I'm going to take it to the local science lab and have it tested." Biff replied. "Fangs, why don't you and Kassidy transform, and go with Steph and Pugs to investigate the cabin?"

"While Fiona and I explore the path for any more clues," Hunter added.

"Alright, here goes," Fangs said, as he and Kassidy looked at a picture of the moon, turning into Fangface and Saige. "Arrroooo! *grr* Alright, lets go bust some creeps!"

"That way, tiger." Puggsy stated as he thumbed in the direction of the cabin- thankful that, after time went by, Fangface broke out of his habit of…

*WHUMP!*

Just kidding! Fangface tackled him like a football-player jacked up on testosterone. "I said THAT way, nit-wolf!" Puggsy snapped.

"Ooh, ooh, I can't help it Pugs- old habits die hard, you know!" Fangface chuckled.

Hunter stifled a laugh, while Saige blushed. "Oh, geez, Dad…" she sighed, a bit embarrassed. Okay, so it was natural for werewolves to tackle someone once in a while- but when you're a teenage-shewolf and your dad's tackling a cop and everyone's staring, it's kind of awkward.

"Just. Get. Moving," Puggsy groused, shoving the werewolf off him. "…nit-wolf, you're lucky I don't arrestify ya for assaulting an officer…"

"Good luck, guys, and be careful!" Biff called as he got in his car and drove off.

The others went into the woods, Fiona and Hunter eventually going up the path where the young teen found the broken test-tube, while their friends went deeper through the foliage to find the cabin. After a few minutes, they started passing by more Totem-poles, only they weren't Native American designs, but sported the designs of monsters from Greek myths: Cerberus, Medusa, Harpies, Scylla, the Hydra, Cyclopes, and so on.

"Whoever carved these things sure couldn't decide on which culture to use to scarify people off," Puggsy commented. "Seriously… Greek monsters on Native American totems?"

"Gotta give them points for originality," Saige commented.

"Look there's the cabin," Stephanie whispered, pointing ahead at a wooden log-cabin, with a roof filled with holes, broken windows, and a door that was barely attached to the hinges. "What do we do?"

"We head over and investify- and if any monsters attack, Fangface and Saige can run them off," Puggsy replied. He cocked his gun, cautiously walking towards the cabin.

"Something stinks," Saige said, crinkling her nose.

"Yeah, yeah, something is definitely up," Fangface replied.

"No, Dad, I mean I smell something…" Saige then shook her head. "Ugh…"

"Honey, what is it?" Stephanie asked.

"My vision just went a little hazy…"

"WHOA!" Puggsy shouted, and the werewolves looked over… seeing him dodging- well, they didn't know. "Back off! Get back, ya three-headed hell-hound!"

They watched as their friend tucked and rolled- ducking when he started shooting off bullets. "Pugs! What the heck are you doing?!" Fangface shouted.

"What are ya, blind?! There's a monstrosized mutt trying to kill me!"

Fangface blinked. "Either he's seeing something I'm not, or he's lost his marbles!" his nose crinkled just then. "And… what's that smell?"

Saige looked at Puggsy, who was now trying to fend off his invisible foe off with a heavy stick, and over at the cabin… suddenly noticing smoke coming out through the cracked chimney. That smoke wasn't there before… and that smell- it's mixed in with it! She realized. "He's hallucinating!" she gasped.

"What?!" Stephanie gasped.

Saige pointed up at the smoke. "That chimney wasn't smoking until after Puggsy started approaching that cabin… and I smell a trace of some sort of chemical in it. It must be a hallucinogen- and a strong one, too!"

"Yaaah!" Puggsy was screaming, running 'away' from the nonexistent monster and back to the others. Fangface caught him. "Run! That thing's got two rabid heads!"

"Pugs! Calm down! There's nothing there!" Fangface snapped, shaking his friend a bit.

"How can you guys NOT see… it's…"

"It's just a hallucination, Pugs." Saige told him, covering her nose and mouth. "The smoke has hallucinogenic chemicals in it."

Puggsy did the same, taking a few deep breaths. Once the stench was out of his nostrils, his eyes- which were starting to have a hazy red-tone around the edges- began to clear, the Cerberus he had been seeing slowly fading away. "So that's what drove the other coppers away… but I didn't smell any hallucinogenical chemicals- believe me, we studied those in our training course at the Police Academy!"

"The smoke obviously disguised it. Dad and I were the only ones who could get a trace of it-"

"Agh! Get back, you crazy chicken-woman!" Fangface was screaming, clawing at the air. Stephanie sighed and covered his nose and mouth with his hat, until the hallucination went away. "Uh… did anyone else see that?"

Saige dug into her own cap, taking out medical-masks. "Everyone put these on. Lets go see who's smoking what," she said.

Together, with masks covering their noses and mouths, they entered the cabin. Whoever was in there had left in a haste, as they left the fire going… and a few weeds on the table. "Someone sure is into gardening," Fangface commented, while Stephanie put out the fire.

"Yeah… and they obviously started a marijuana collection," Puggsy commented, looking over and seeing a few totes in the room with the tall pot-plants in them.

"But how did it make you see monsters?" Stephanie asked. "I mean, I know pot makes you see crazy things, but…"

"Those totems!" Puggsy guessed. "They had carvings of monsters on them… and since everyone who came here saw them, the images became real due to the affects!"

"Ooh! How'd you figure that out, Pugs? *grr* how, how?" Fangface asked.

"Read it in a book, once."

"So, this whole thing is just a guise to cover up an illegal pot-plantation," Stephanie guessed.

Saige looked over, seeing a table with test-tubes, filled with the same liquid that stained the broken one Fiona found. "Mom, Dad, look at this-" she began, though didn't finish as a low creaking sound erupted from the floor.

*CRACK!*

"AUGH!"

*CRASH!*

0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0

Hunter and Fiona went up the trail, the she-wolf sniffing along but finding no trace of the odd liquid outside of the spot where Fiona found it. They came across the highway, seeing several cars driving by- all from the same location: a large amphitheater five miles away. One of the cars slowed down, pulling over on the shoulder in front of them, the window rolling down as a young man stuck his head out. "Hey, have either of you seen this girl?" he asked them, taking out his wallet and showing a picture of a Latin girl with dark hair and hazel eyes. "Her name's Ruby. We were at the concert last night, and she just vanished halfway through it."

"We haven't, I'm sorry." Hunter replied.

"Shit… I've looked everywhere for her! …Hey, you're that werewolf-friend of Fangface's aren't you? Can you guys keep an eye out for her?"

"Sure thing," Fiona answered. "What's your name?"

"Leonard Starlight. I'm going to go to the police station, see if they might know anything," with that, he drove off. "Thanks!"

The moment after Leonard drove off, Biff pulled up. "Hunter! Fiona! Did you guys find anything?" he asked.

"No, but someone's friend went missing at the concert last night," Fiona said, thumbing back at the amphitheater.

Biff rubbed his chin. "Maybe there's a connection…"

"How so?" Hunter asked.

"The scientists at the lab claimed that broken tube had been filled with morphine- only it was unstable, the effects of it more heavy. Not only could it cause numbness and fatigue, but it could also put someone to sleep for a whole week… maybe even kill them. Whoever made the morphine must be behind the recent kidnappings, and is using the cabin as a base,"

"Saige!" Fiona gasped. "She and the others… what if they get caught?!"

"Don't worry, hun, we'll go catch up to them," Hunter assured.

Biff's cell-phone just rang, and he answered it. "Kim, what's up? …Did you tell Pugs? …Not answering?! …Okay, I'll meet you at the campsite! Don't worry, we're on it." He hung up, then turned to Hunter and Fiona. "Guys, go find Pugs and the others- something must have happened, he's not answering his phone!"

"On it- but what's wrong with Kim?"

Biff sighed. "What do you think? Jessie's missing- again!"

0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0

Saige came to, seeing that she and the others were in the basement of the cabin, a giant hole in the rotting floorboards above them. As she looked around, she noticed that it wasn't exactly a basement, but more of a tunnel underneath the cabin, leading down a earthen corridor into pitch-blackness. "I wonder where this leads…" she wondered aloud.

"Hopefully… to a hospital…" came a grunt, as she looked over and noticed Puggsy getting up, along with the others. The stocky young officer hissed in pain, rubbing his leg.

"Pugs, are you alright?" Stephanie asked.

"Must've twisted my ankle or something in that fall… ugh, you'd think if people were going to have tunnels under their houses, they'd have more securified support beams."

Fangface helped his friend stand, and they looked down the tunnel. "Guess the only way out is forward," Saige sighed.

Stephanie tensed. "I-I don't think so… maybe you or your father could super-jump out of here, and find some rope?" she suggested instead.

Puggsy looked up. "I wouldn't trust walking on THOSE boards again,"

"Yeah, and whoever was up there might be investigating the crash. Our best option is to head down the tunnel and find a way out," Saige said.

Stephanie sighed, while Fangface lied a hand on her shoulder. "It's alright, hon. *grr* If anything's in these tunnels, me and Saige will handle it!" he assured her.

That's what worries me, Stephanie thought, but followed her husband as he supported Puggsy, Saige right beside her.

Five minutes later, they came across a wide room- undoubtedly the cabin's official basement, with a set of stairs leading back to the surface. On the other side of the room, there was another tunnel. Around the room where crates filled with test-tubes, more pot-plants… and blood-stained stretchers propped against the wall. The group ducked behind a set of crates, as two men- one gruff and bald, the other slim and well-shaved- grabbed one of the stretchers. "Hurry up with that stretcher!" a voice called.

"Yeah, yeah, cool your jets! The body ain't going anywhere!" The slim young man called.

Someone ran down the stairs just then, a man in his 40's. "Guys, we've got trouble. A couple people and these… wolf-things got inside the cabin and fell through the floor. They're in the back-tunnel!" he stammered.

"Then just stab them with a bit of morphine and we can auction 'em off with the rest!"

"Didn't you hear me?! We've got WEREWOLVES in the tunnel… and one of those people was a cop!"

"The drug should knock out the werewolves just as well as humans- heck, maybe we could even use one to experiment on, since so many people have been dying from the dose. As for the cop… we'll keep him quiet- six feet under,"

"I'll go with ya. Reggie, you get the stretcher to Maximus." The gruff man said, walking off to help his partner investigate the tunnels, while Reggie carried the stretcher.

The werewolves and co. stayed ducked behind the crates. Out of the corner of her eye, Saige thought she saw movement behind another crate, but didn't get a good look as her father tapped her shoulder, motioning her forward. "Fangface, you and Saige come with me to find out what those creeps are doing," Puggsy whispered as they moved out from behind their hiding places. "Steph, you head up the stairs and get help."

Stephanie tensed- she didn't want to leave her husband and daughter alone. "Why can't we send Saige? I don't want her down here!" she replied, quietly.

"Mom, we're dealing with some sick people- it'll take more than one werewolf to handle them," Saige said. "You have to put your worrying aside and trust me on this!"

There came voices from the back tunnel. "No time to argue. Steph, get going!" Puggsy urged, as they made their way into the other tunnel. With no other choice, Stephanie ran up the stairs to get help.

Her path was blocked by two more strange men, both armed with blunt instruments. "Going somewhere, ma'am?" one of them said, menacingly.

"Perhaps we can show you a way out-" the other began… until he was hit over the head with a rock.

"What the-?!" The other turned around, only to get a furry fist to the face, losing consciousness.

"Hunter! Oh, thank God…" Stephanie sighed with relief, hugging her friend. "Where's Fiona?"

"She's with Biff. They're meeting up with Kim… apparently, Jessie took off again- probably on her way here," Hunter replied. "Where's the others?"

"Downstairs- I don't know how many more men are down there, but something is going on. Something that involves auctioning, bodies, test-tubes…"

Hunter's mind clicked. "Human trafficking!" she gasped. "All the abductions, all the morphine... these people are selling others!"

"A-And experimenting on them… some people died from the morphine-dose…"

"The stuff is strong- text Biff and have him bring the cops here!"

Stephanie did so, as she and Hunter ran back down the stairs.

Saige had been told the situations would be dangerous, her father (Fangs) going on and on about how horrifying their cases tend to be. … but nothing he described was as sick as she was seeing now.

People were strapped to tables, not moving and hardly breathing. On a stretcher, a man and a woman carried a bleeding young boy, roughly 19 of age, towards another set of stairs. "One more to the falls." The woman stated. "Some people just can't handle drugs, heh."

"How long as this one been out?" A man in a lab-coat asked, looking at a 21-year-old woman of Asian heritage.

"Almost three days, but it seems her breathing is slowing." Another man replied.

"Have you brought in any more people?"

"Just one, unfortunately. A young Latin woman having attended the concert last night. We put her picture up online this morning and already we have a few bidders."

Saige looked over from behind their hiding spot, seeing the young woman. To her disgust, the woman had been stripped of her clothing, covered only with a sheet.

"Do they want her alive?" The man in the lab coat asked.

"Yes." His partner replied.

"Then lets hope she can handle the morphine. It must stay in effect for an entire week at the most, so our victims don't wake up and expose our operation during delivery." He sighed, rubbing his temples. "You'd think it would be a little more simple…"

"Sir, Tyler said that some people got into the cabin and fell through the floor. Two of them were werewolves," Reggie, the man from earlier, stated.

"Werewolves, hmm? They might sell high… perhaps I could also experiment on them,"

"That's what I said… but, what if we can't control them?"

"Ha! Just let them try to stop us. I'll have them pumped full of drugs before they even discover our operation,"

"GUESS AGAIN!" Fangface shouted, throwing a crate full of test-tubes at the human-traffickers. They leaped out of the way just in time.

"Don't just stand there, GET THEM!"

More traffickers ran forth with guns, firing at the werewolves. Puggsy, ducked behind a crate, shot back at them to give the werewolves cover. Fangface grabbed a table and threw it at their attackers, knocking them off their feet and into a state of unconsciousness.

Saige, after knocking out two traffickers, ran over to a table full of beakers, test-tubes, and burners, smashing it to bits. "My morphine!" The man in the lab coat snarled, then grabbed a syringe out of his lab-coat. Saige turned and tried to dodge, but was too late, the madman sticking the needle into her chest.

"SAIGE!" Puggsy shouted, then shot at the madman, who only avoided his shots. He stopped firing, as it seemed Saige was still standing, grabbing her attacker and throwing him across the room against the wall.

Fangface ran over to his daughter. "Are you okay?" he gasped, hoping that werewolves were capable of fighting off the effects of morphine.

"N-No…" Saige admitted, feeling her body going numb.

The three remaining traffickers entered the room, guns in hand. One of them grabbed Puggsy by the shirt-collar, pressing a gun into his throat. "You're going down, cop-" he began to state…

*BAM! WHACK!*

He turned around, seeing that his two companions had been knocked out, and in a blink a needle was stabbed into his stomach. "Have a taste of your own medicine, sicko!" Jessie stated. The man staggered a bit, though to speed up his fall, the young girl kicked him in the groin, then in the face as he hunched over.

Puggsy gawked. "Jessie! What the…?! How'd you…?! ARE YOU INSANE?!" he shouted.

"Hey, it was either stay home with mom, or come along… just in time to save your neck," Jessie replied. "Am I still grounded for life?"

Puggsy looked at the goons his daughter just took out, then back at her. "Um… just an extra two weeks."

Jessie gave an approving nod. She then ran over to Saige and Fangface. "How is she?"

"Unconscious, but still breathing, thank God." Fangface sighed, holding his daughter close. He then did a double-take. "Jessie! How did you get here?!"

"Hid in the trunk of Dad's car. It took a while to bust out, but I managed. I followed you guys to the cabin, and ran in after you guys fell through the floor. I went down the stairs and hid behind the crates, when I noticed these goons stuffing a body into a crate. I went to run up the stairs, when I noticed you guys coming, and followed you into the next tunnel."

"Why didn't you just tell us you were here?" Puggsy demanded.

"What, and have you send me home, and carry on the case with a limp?" she then held something up- the laptop one of the traffickers had been using. "I also managed to snag the computer after Fangface tossed the crate, copying down all the addresses and aliases of these 'bidders' and their past clients. If we're lucky, we may be able to track them down and save the victims."

"I really wish you didn't get involved…"

Jessie shrugged. "If it was just an underground pot-farm, I would have gone home. But when it comes to this sick stuff… well, I wasn't going to go home without doing some damage to this so-called 'business'." She then turned to Fangface. "So… should we get Saige to the hospital, or what?"

Hunter and Stephanie came running in. "SAIGE! What happened?!" Stephanie shrieked, rushing over.

"She got injected with morphine, but she should be okay if we get her treated immediately," Puggsy replied, then looked at the other unconscious victims. "As well as the rest of these people…"

"The police are on their way with an ambulance." Hunter replied… then looked at Jessie. "…oh, hon, don't tell me you snuck all the way down here!"

"We bust a human-trafficking scheme, and everyone's main focus is the fact that I snuck out." Jessie scoffed.

"Yeah… and you're going to be under surveillance until you're 40!" Puggsy snapped at her.

"Oh, c'mon, Dad! I helped out, didn't I?! AND I took out three goons!"

"AND you're still in hot-water. Back to the surface- we're going to have a LONG discussion,"

Jessie groaned, turning to Saige. "…you're lucky you're unconscious,"

Saige came to in the hospital, the light above her head resembling the sun and causing her to turn back into Kassidy. "Oh… my head…" she groaned. "Why can't I just stand still when I change? Why does it always have to be spinning…?"

"Kassidy!"

She looked over, seeing Fangs sitting across from her. "Dad! What happened? Is everyone alright?"

"Everyone is fine, honey. We took down those creeps, and managed to save the victims. The police are also hunting down more of the kidnapped victims, and the doctors manage to drain the drugs from your system and… oh I'm so glad you're okay!" Fangs hugged his daughter tight. "You were out for two whole days… I was so scared…"

"Oh, daddy…" Kassidy hugged her father back. "…wait, two days? H-How's mom taking it?"

"She's fine… still a little unnerved, but fine. …It may be a while before we allow you to go on another case with us, though…"

"It's alright, Dad… I think that 'trial run' was more than I bargained for. I may just rest easy for a while,"

Fangs smiled. Stephanie came in next, running forth and hugging her daughter. "Oh, thank God!" she exclaimed. "Kass, sweetie, I told you it was too dangerous- oh what the heck, I'm just glad you're okay! Don't ever scare me like that again!"

"S-Sure thing, mom,"

"The doctors said that once you come to, they want you to do some physical therapy, just to make sure the drug is completely out of your system. Thankfully, Saige's immune-system was strong enough to outdo it. …So, now that you've been on a case, do you STILL want to continue helping out your dad?"

"I'm going to take a break for a while, if it makes you feel better."

"I think we should ALL take a break," Fangs suggested, putting an arm around his wife and daughter.

After the turmoil of their trip, they agreed that was a good idea.

THE END.
