Angel's Wings
She had been tracking the monster that night so many years ago, before her daughter was born. She had been alone. Something in her gut told her to head for a small house. As she approached the door she heard the screams and the crying from behind it. She hadn't been able to save his mother, but she saved him, and held him until the morning light graced the sky. She had wanted to take care of him then, but her gut told her it wasn't the time or the place for her to enter his life in a permanent fashion. She left him in the care of the social workers and tried to go about her life until the proper time arrived. But her thoughts remained with him.
Thirty years later, it was like angel's wings carried him to her. He didn't recognize her at first, he was very young at the time they met. It took him a while, but he remembered her. The incident with the Nubbins brought to the surface so feelings she hadn't experienced in a long time. Not since she had first been in love with John. There was something new and exciting about the emotions running through her. It was like flying, but she needed his wings to feel the truth depth of the emotion. There was a light in Will that had dimmed a little in the years between their meetings. She needed his light too, to help her through her own darkness. He was her heaven and she blessed the day he came back into her life.
Bless the day he came to be
Angel's wings carried him to me
Heavenly
I can fly
But I want his wings
I can shine even in the darkness
But I crave the light that he brings
Revel in the songs that he sings
My angel Gabriel
My angel Gabriel
My angel Gabriel
