Title: Hypothetically
Drabble: #32
TK's prompt: Train
Randomly selected pairing: Sorato
Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon.
Notes: I hate Sorato. I was thinking I could make her die to avoid directly writing the pairing, but then I realised that it wouldn't be romance if I did that. So I'm stuffed, really.

Sora smiles contentedly as she makes sure her apartment is spotless, glancing over at the clock yet again in anticipation. He'll be there soon. His train arrives in about forty minutes and the walk from the station is only a short one. She doesn't have that much longer to make everything, herself included, look presentable. Not that it matters; she's spent her entire week scrubbing and dusting and outwitting the mice that live under her sink. There's not much else she can do to prepare, let alone that she needs to do. But she hasn't seen his pretty face for years and years, so she has to make sure everything's perfect.

She listens to his voice float down to her end of the phone as she fixes the cushions on her sofa. He's talking about how trains have always managed to give him hiccups, and how that was always a nightmare when he had to get a train to a gig back in the old days. She giggles and he clears his throat; there's a barely detectable hint of nervousness in his voice when he asks her whether she minds about burping, because he can't quite remember.

An eyebrow is raised as she moves on to tie up the curtains properly, and she replies that she doesn't mind as long as he doesn't do it in a public place. Besides, doesn't he remember the times when the two of them, and occasionally Taichi, would have burping competitions after having a little bit too much to drink? She always managed to give them a run for their money.

The relief is evident in his voice as he laughs, and she throws another glance at the clock. Then he speaks again, almost stumbling over his words, even though if she were to confront him about it later she's sure he would blame the rocking of the train. He asks her if, hypothetically of course, it would be ok if he kisses her when he arrives.

She comes close to dropping the phone with surprise, but doesn't hesitate to say it would be fine. It's sweet of him to ask, after all.
